Tax return blues - would a bit of solidarity help?

What better time to tackle the 23/24 tax return..

Oh fuck. It's that time of the year again.

*Looks forward to several weeks of cleaning ovens, tidying the flat, organising a huge record collection alphabetically and then spending the last day of January frantically filling in my tax return.

I’ve only just noticed that our accountant hasn’t got round to submitting the forms. He hasn’t done our annual company returns and corporation tax, either. I hope he has Christmas indigestion.

Recieved all my bank statements today! I'll leave them until a week before no doubt....will be interesting trying to do my tax return on a tour bus in France!

Quick off the mark using up my 90/180 day Brexit bonus quota! Should have used 1/3 by the end of Jan and have it submitted!

I'm finding it difficult to face, though I did download and file a lot of statements and stuff last autumn, I still have started.
Promise myself I'll just do one tiny thing tomorrow - like locating my file., or logging into the account.

Ok nearly done, but cant figure out how to transfer 'marriage allowance from one of us to the other. We've both entered all the details and it keeps saying 'error' aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrghh!

Had to do my mother's today. It needed a "white space note" and the bloody thing wouldn't accept what I'd typed.

Turned out using the "return key" is not permissable. Why the fck not?

Getting past that was the hardest part of the whole process.

Yes its annoying. Then they give a fucking big text box then say you cant use more than 40 characters. You can't use : or = either.

What I've heard is that they are aware of the shortcomings, but haven't got the budget to get any code changed, since all their in house software bods walked out after HMRC insisted they went on PAYE!

I told my son to keep a record of every job he does as he goes along so filing his taxes should be a doddle. Reality is we have to go through a years worth of Amazon and Ebay purchases to work out what jobs he's done. Autistic folk shouldn't have to file taxes, they don't have the executive functioning needed to deal with any of this, just let them live tax free
