Sundance Festival "Hot Girls Wanted" Documentary

4 years and I still cry sometimes
Has anyone seen this?

Is it worth watching?

It claims to be an expose of the amateur porn industry, it looks interesting from the reviews and the trailer.

It is available on Netflix, does anyone know of an alternative source as I haven't got netflix here.

It struck me as an exploitative documentary about exploitation, from all I saw/read about it and how it was constructed.

Just checked and it's up on Netflix. Their rating guesses are usually spot-on and they think I'd rate this 2/5.

"amateur porn"

I don't think that word means what they think it means.

I watched a bit of this...that was one of the more shocking parts for me...the fact that what is billed as "amateur/homemade" porn online, which is really professional porn* shot with inexperienced actors to look like it was filmed in someone's private home on a handheld camcorder is being churned out at such a huge rate, probably 100's of films a day by these small studios.

there is very little true amateur porn, I guess, but it's the most sought out genre, and the reason why, as the guy in the trailer mentioned, the female stars have a very short shelf life.

*ok, that's not incredibly shocking, but the sheer volume of it is (no pun intended)
