So how's it going in Poland then?

Fruitloop said:
Interestingly I was amazed when I first went to Poland about 12 years ago how subsidized the concerts and theatre were, and how correspondingly varied the audiences were. Not like here, where the arts are more or less exclusively a social club for posh people.

Yes, that was the situation across the old Soviet Bloc, mainly because the authorities didnt want people listening to decadent western pop!

Out of all the papers i prefer the Guardian myself...Even though i do have to laugh at some of the right wing shit they print....

The Guardian is a little too liberal for you, isn't it? I mean, it's read by the "liberal left; your nemesis; the ones whom you spend much of the time attacking (along with immigrants and students in HE, whom you paint as some sort of massive middle class cadre).

The Russian music-school system, which took the most talented youngsters right from local level up to some of the best conservatoires in the world was pretty damn amazing. I don't think that a comparable system of music education has ever existed tbh.

Yes, couple of my friends went to state music schools in Poland, tho' one of them dropped out when he was 12 because the other lads on the estate were taking the piss out of him!

Infantile comment belboid. I think you might find that a lot of Poles would rather not have to move hundreds of miles to get work.
I know a lot of people probably think that its good that Poles should be transported to work leaving friends and families behind to help boost the economy of a richer country..Have you ever read mein kamp?

Nino i read the Guardian despite being critical of some of the shit in it. Its not like i want to read about celebrities in the tabloids..The Independent is even more wankier and hypocritical.
As for attacking immigrants being that really is shit....I am against economic migration not against immigrants if your too dense too understand their is a difference thats your problem not mine...
And as you like statistics being one of urban75s self selected clever authoritarians ponder the stat of what % of the worlds population has a higher education then tell me you dont think H/E is a privellege..............

Obfuscate away, balderdash. You've merely thinly disguised your attacks on immigrants. You fool no one but yourself.

And what's this?

Balders, here's a conundrum for you.

If you're using "authoritarian" as a term of abuse (as above), and you describe yourself as an "authoritarian socialist" (posts passim), then what does that make you by your own terms of reference?

You still find it hard to post without: a) making things up and b) obfuscating.

You didn't get an education - did you? It shows too.

poland has a big influx of ukrainians & belarusians at the moment, and they are treated/looked upon exactly the same as people in the uk look upon poles, just one big chain

Yeah, I was drinking with a Polish pal on Saturday night who was telling me just that. He also insists that the EU is now big enough and any further enlargement would be a big mistake :D

Your right it is a bit of a conundrum.....I call myself an authoritarian socialist, to differentiate what i believe in to Liberal nothingness..

By that expression i mean people who say they want social change and the majority in control but in reality oppose the dictatorship of the proletariat as laid out in my new handy pamphlet "tbaldwin tells everyone what to think"

My authoritariansm is about supporting the majority to impose their will on minorities if neccesary.

But yes i would also say that i use authoritarianism as an insult for people like you who think of yourslef as very liberal but oppose majority rule and would rather back the authority of a privelleged minority over the majority.

You probably struggle with the whole idea of authority having served under two of the most reactionary and authoritarin home secretarys in Anne Widdecombe and Michael Howard.

But i believe in laws and authorities as i'm not an anarchist. But i believe those laws need to change to reflect the interests and wishes of the majority.

So, in other words, you still haven't quite worked out what "authoritarian" mean, have you?

Except of course, that as usual you're talking bollocks, and attributing political views to me that I don't hold.
Quite sad really, just how much shit you invent.
You probably struggle with the whole idea of authority having served under two of the most reactionary and authoritarin home secretarys in Anne Widdecombe and Michael Howard.
Right, so because I worked at the Home Office while they were there, I take on their political views, do I?
What a total prick you are.
But i believe in laws and authorities as i'm not an anarchist. But i believe those laws need to change to reflect the interests and wishes of the majority.
And yet you do nothing to try to bring your dream about, do you?
You just waste your time telling everyone else how they're getting things wrong rather than pulling your thumb out of your arse and getting on with something.

1 It means differenrt things to different people some people would say that Castro and Cahvez were authoritarian socialists some wouldnt.

2 So where exactly do you stand on majority control today,VP?

3 I didnt claim that you had exactly the same views as them did i. I just mentioned that your views on authoritarianism might have been clouded by working for the home office under 2 very reactionary home secretaries...I very much doubt if you agreed with a lot of their views eventhough you were happy enough to work for them.

4 A career in stand up beckons you..........

For someone who started a thread about Poland you've spent very little time discussing that wonderful country Balders :(

Your right Belushi and its good that you have managed to keep to topic...Its just when i get accused of being anti immigrant etc etc by the usual bigoted morons i do get a bit distracted.....

I think your point about Poles who oppose the enlargement of the eu is interesting. What people like nino and other posh bigots dont understand is that many people who came to this country as immigrants look at our liberal policies on migration with a mixture of amusement and horror.
