That reminds me of a piece of commentary from a few years ago:

"Of course we didn't have super slo-mo in our day... but we did have Terry Griffiths."
And Cliff Thorburn. And Eddie Charlton. The 'grinders' were very commonplace.

Generally, the pace of play is much higher than it was, and break-building is also higher. Back in the 80s, they'd flash on the screen when a break reached 40. Oooooh.
 
How long this evening before someone says, "Barry needs to win this first frame"?

I find myself sometimes saying things on a shot, only to hear it repeated verbatim by a commentator. That's the case even when it's not a cliché. Should I be worried?
