Should we have more referendums?

Well, should we?

Deckchairs on the titanic. I want real democracy (both political and economic), the charade of more referendums run by establishment groups isn't going to bring that about any more than changing the voting method will.

That said, the one thing they do do (as shown by this one) is revel the contempt liberals have for real democracy. We can't possible allow those dreadful ignorant (working-class) people a say, that might vote the wrong way.

After the huge number of idiots who have blindly believed Boris' bullshit. (BBBB) i'm afraid of us ever having a referendum again.

Priminister Boris will be like should we nuke Germany to make our NHS great again?
And the idiots will be like yeah if we don't the immigrants will steal our children and eat them.
Like bringing back the death penalty? That'll be a popular one.

for Scotland and Welsh independence after the EU vote
You made this silly claim yesterday, it's cobblers. The polling for Wales, while more Remain then England, is nothing like that for Scotland and even if it was that doesn't translate into support for independence which has always been very much a minority position.

Interesting you think of working class people as ignorant.

The idiot on my Facebook who is being a xenophobic moron is a chartered accountant I used to be school chums with.

What did I claim yesterday.. and was I pissing about whilst making this claim?

If we do, there should actually be proper alternatives, where those wanting to vote for Not the Status Quo actually know what they'll be voting for. With both this vote and Scotland, what the NtSQ vote had no idea what it was actually voting for - keeping the pound? In the EEA? Important points which would affect how people vote, but left up in the air so both sides could claim any old bullshit. Shouldn't be repeated.

Surprised by the anti-referenda vote. 46% at time of posting. I thought urbans would be in favour...

OK, sorry, but I've seen this idea that Leave is a English vote bandied about and it's rubbish, divisive nationalist rubbish. (This was the previous post I was referring to).

Be good to see referendums on things like Trident, though it seems like it'd be hard to avoid also ending up with stupid shit like the Swiss minaret ban.
