Short train break to somewhere a bit hot

Like the look of the eastern one. I feel 1-2 days in most cities is far to short though.
I’ve done a version of that. Istanbul - Belgrade - Venice - Paris - London. 3 days in each except Paris as we just had lunch there as we’d been before several times. I felt like we didn’t even scratch the surface of Istanbul and Venice in that time. Would love to go back to all of them again.

£29 Eurostar tickets to Paris in July, August and September atm. It'll probably be very hot! But not such a great place in the heat if you've got kids.

Marseilles is fantastic, though personally I preferred Avignon both as a place to visit/stay and as a base for exploring the rest of the region by train (Arles, Nimes and Orange are less than 30 minutes away from the central station, Montpellier about an hour and Aix / Marseille itself not that far on the TGV). They also have a few loco-hauled trains still going around as well, for those who appreciate such things.

We just did the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander and Bilbao. 3 of us in a car, out on June 28th to Santander and back from Bilbao on 16th of July. Outside cabin on the way out and deluxe cabin with seating area on the way back. Just over £1200. Can’t recommend it enough. Your holiday starts when you get to your cabin and the whole thing is a very low stress affair.
