You know Kail best, but I reckon parrots tend to get on/coexist with some types of dogs better than others - not relevant to you but on a related note having had cats and birds at the same time I can safely say that is difficult, there is no way that any cat isn't seeing a small/medium parrot as potential lunch, both cat and parrot know this, also bacteria that live in cat saliva and thus, due to constant grooming, their fur is something that birds don't tend to have any immunity to.
I think dogs and parrots might be easier and some breeds of dog would be more problematic than others - those with a high chase drive or highly energetic and might get excited by a flappy companion in their home - so probably sighthounds and terriers not a great mix with parrots. Not a dog expert but I think bully breeds like Kail are not that excitable or prone to trying to chase or hunt things? So that could work if Kail heeds you and you can teach him to not bother the bird.
The one thing I would say though is that parrots tend to be utterly terrified on an instinctive rooted in the amygdala part of the brain fear for their life type level of snakes (mostly due to potential nest-raiding behaviour to eat eggs and chicks, a lot of birds are especially afraid of snakes and large rodents due to their nests and chicks being a good food source for some species of those) - so if you have or intend to have snakes, they would probably have to be kept out of sight of any parrot, for the parrot's peace of mind.
