Self-indulgent pet thread

I was fighting a losing battle with the kids over sitting on the dining table. I have no sofa at present so I can't bring myself to prohibit it so I've compromised and covered the tablecloth with a super cheap fleece blanket. Seems to be a winner and I can peel it back for fur free eating.

Table used to be a cat free zone at ours, as well as a few other places, but since the arrival of Charlie Papillon, Breeze seems to have taken the executive decision that anywhere she wants to be that he can't be is suitable, including said table. I've half given up.

It's just an endless war isn't it. Especially when they roll over and offer a belly and a cute face. I think it's the shock of actually being able to get to the table too. I'm a slowly reforming household slattern.

Bit grainy but apparently it's worth waking up at 4am cos Mookie gets to demand more kisses :)

So you get a bit of a lie in then?

Woken this morning by a "Ummmmph! Ummmmmphhh!! UmmmmmppHHH!!!" <Splat!>

Poor old Bobbie - that's 2-3 mornings on the bounce now - back on the anti-nausea jollop for you young man!

My lot have hairball mania at the moment. "HUUURRLLLLL. Ohhh Moma look at the size of THIS one". It wasn't them that woke me but once they'd figured out I was awake, well....

From a ferret on a bin to a ferret that's bin and gone. Haw haw. This is Starbuck who was found in Enfield (I think). He's an entire stinky hob but he's off to the rescue to become a vasectomised gigolo to bring jills out of season. Happy ending for him. Young boy, full of life but a bit aggressive with other ferrets.

Thanks, he would lose those yellows in his coat if he were neutered. Entire ferrets can be quite spectacular. But very stinky.

This is Horace. Found outside Stevenage back in April. He's stayed with us. In fact he's sitting on my lap right now nipping me for not paying him attention. Like Starbuck he's probably in his second year. I think that's Toby, Grimm and Tyrri in the background.

Oooh lovely ferrets Knotted  I've heard they make great pets. How many do you have?

Our snake is about to shed his skin. It's very exciting! But it takes ages and you're not allowed to hold them while they're shedding, so we're missing him a bit.

Far too many. My other half gets involved with these facebook groups about rescuing them and I keep getting phone calls saying, "there's a ferret needs rescuing in Cornwall, they're threatening to put him down, oh also he has a mate, can we go to Cornwall at the weekend?" The answer is 20 at the minute, or 19 and one polecat.

But, yes they do make great pets. They are a little bit smelly (very smelly if not neutered). But they are easy to look after, they sleep most of the day and they play when they're up and snuggle on your lap.
