Self-indulgent pet thread

I'm sorry to announce that Boris has left for the giant cage in the sky tonight :( He was quite chirpy to the last but went to bed this morning and didn't get up. That lump must have been more serious that it looked

RIP Boris

I'm so sorry to hear this. Rodents really DO live by the philosophy of "Live Fast, Die Young." Warmest thoughts to you Dovydaitis

Thanks everyone, not liking because it's good but because I appreciate it. He was a friendly little chap and I miss him (peppers will never be the same again :( ) but he was old and had hopefully a good life

I seem to spend far too much time in the vets these days - nothing major, but I just it just comes with the territory. Breeze needs her annual jabs, so I'll probably be taking Her Grumpiness to one vets this afternoon and a couple weeks later Charlie has to go there for one more jab. Griff had been discharged from his regular checks at another (that was after the mastectomy he had 18 months ago.) Night before last, I noticed his eye was inflamed and eye problems in pigs can get worse VERY quickly, so it was off to the pig vets yesterday morning. He's got antibiotic drops twice a day, stuff to repair the cornea twice a day and pain killers once a day. He's happy in himself, but I keep checking his eye every hour. Have had two pigs that have had to have eyes removed - they did fine after, but it's still a worry.

Hello pet people :) This is Django, our corn snake, who joined our family today. He's a bit nervous and just getting used to his new surroundings. We're a bit nervous, as snake noobs, that we're going to accidentally kill him  *goes off to obsessively research snake care*

 All relative! If you're used to looking at furry cat faces, for example, he's anything but plain! I love him.

I love furry cat faces :) Thanks - we love him too. I was just referring to his markings really. There were some really amazing colourful snakes in the shop but he was by far the friendliest.

Personality has got to be the most important thing, but he is a lovely colour!
