New boys in our house. 11 weeks old. Still not decided on names
Awwwww!!!! *meltymeltmelt* Sooooo beautiful!!

CRI - your house is always brand spankingly clean! Wow.

Ah thanks. Can't miss though with the subject matter (and a colourful rug!)
Don't be so modest - your photos are ace. :)

twentythreedom - I think they're going to be called Loki and Bubbles :D

When should I let them out of the room they're in? They're really comfortable/confident in here - been chasing each other around, were asleep on the sofa when we came in this morning and lay there all chilled and allowed themselves to be boyhandled and cuddled. I can shut all the bedroom and bathroom doors but the downstairs is pretty much open plan.

Whenever you're ready to let them out tbh. If they're confident then go for it. They'll just go back to that room if they aren't and slowly come out later

Hey, it's trick photography! Edit out the guinea pig poops, hay and kitty fluff and make sure the piles of crap in the background are out of focus. Too bad that doesn't work in real life though!

Cheers :) I think I'll wait till the foal gets home from school. One of them is rubbing his head on my foot now. I've done bugger all work this morning

Oh wow, they are adorable! The one on the right must have some Maine Coon ancestors (massive ears, ear whiskers, big feet, it's a giveaway!) so will be one big kitteh! Are they brothers? Perhaps different dads? (scandal! ha!)

I was actually hoping for a brown tabby, which is sort of the "classic" Maine Coon type, when we got Breeze, but silver and ginger tabbies are close seconds, so I'm more than chuffed! :)

I'm delighted things are working out better with these kitties after reading about your tricky experience with the other rescue. These guys are going to be so spoilt!

(Thanks for the photo comment - thing is, other than retouching all the dirt, the key is get down really low so you can see the animal like other animals see it. Guess if it were a bird it would be the opposite though!)

They are brothers - there was a mother and daughter dumped at the RSPCA, both pregnant. These are from the mother's litter - she had 8 kittens and 4 died because she was so malnourished :(

These were the only boys - I wanted boys because my last lot of cats were female and I thought it would make a nice change. Ooh how cool if Loki was part Maine Coon! Even the little runty one (Bubbles) has quite big ears. They have different coloured eyes (which you would be able to see if I weren't such an utterly shit photographer - I've done something weird to my fancy camera and I can't get it to auto focus  )

I will give you fourteen million fairy groat coins! For each cat! And a sandwich. Can I have them???
:D

No :p

I have a longstanding urge to get 3 kittens out of the same litter and call them Bruv, Cuz and Fam.

Schmetterling if you are serious about getting a cat, and assuming you are in London, then please do look at rehoming a cat from Celia Hammond. http://www.celiahammond.org/. They are crying out for homes at the moment. Mousch came to us via them after her pregnant mother was found living in the tescos car park near rotherhithe. CH treated the mother, and spayed the kittens once they were born.

Thank you; I have had a look and will contact them.

FYI Schmetterling - just to give you an idea of costs: my kittens cost £80 each from the RSPCA (not an org I love but alternatives are thin on the ground where I live. That includes the cost of 2 lots of vaccinations, microchipping and neutering. At the moment they cost £1/day to feed plus about 20p/day on cat litter. And insurance is on top of that (£40-100/year per kitten)

Worth every penny, I'm sure you'll agree

Everyone's cats are lovely. trashpony I have definite kitten envy!

My old boy has got terribly thin again :( He's just fur and bone, all knobbly round the hips. Vets tomorrow <sigh>
