Russia and China moving ships to Gulf of Mexico?

The article consists of two sentences the first of which doesn't actually make sense, and a picture of the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

china and russia have 1 carrier each the chinese one is used for training and probably isnt even fully operational

The Chinese carrier would most likely have to go through the Panama Canal to get to the Gulf of Mexico.

Somebody would probably notice.

The picture is a US carrier.

One Chinese carrier in the Gulf so close to US land based air power would be a suicide mission for anything more confrontational than waving the flag or visiting ports to shake hands and swap pennants.

As others have said it is very likely a bollox story and one that makes zero sense.

The chinese carrier is just about operational but its new and they are still learning the russian carrier is a rather strange beast it carrys a load of really heavy anti ship missiles and some fighters but they cant fly off the ship carrying anything other than some air to air missiles.
Russia's defence budget isnt much bigger than ours the days when they were a threat to thr US navy are long gone.
Even with russian prices and a slightly less useless MoD your not keeping a large military in tip top fighting shape with a tiny budget something is going to have to give
