There is a difference between using a word in written form and using it in speech. in redcogs heights Mrs rc will become irate if c word is used as an expletive because it links female genitals to factors negative and derogatory, thus degrading women. Speech matters as we know. In print (on a forum for eg) or in a book the term is essential (imv) and 'free speech' demands its continued use. What would Chatterley (and many other works of literature) be without the erotic charge of cunt? Exceptions abound though. In extreme anger i think its probably ok. Waters aint a cunt.

It was explicitly limited to that context, i think thats clear. It certainly wasn't a general "don't call a woman a cunt ever" - that was a little strawman that came up later, and not from me.

That’s not the thread I was taking about AFAIR but I’m not massively bothered either way. Just confirming krtek’s post that there was a discussion and my personal reaction to that discussion. Everyone else can keep on doing whatever they want, I don’t make the rules.

This may well have been mentioned in the thread already, apologies if repeating something but was reading this interesting article about how the UN, particularly the security council, is losing its power, and being superseded by groupings such as BRICS and the G20.
But this bit stood out - supposedly Roger Waters spoke at the the UN about the invasion of Ukraine at the invitation of the Russian delegation!! What a tool...

This would struggle to sell 45 copies and a single listen feels one like too many so far

I heard he'd redone the album and assumed it was some kind of note for note remake and he'd just wanted to replace all those second class citizens who used to make up his retinue, aka Pink Floyd. I've just managed 5 minutes of the remade album and realised it's, well, how the fuck to describe it? Fucking awful, certainly, but beyond that... He claims he was the dominant voice in the original album and so, if that's true, he's laying down some kind of sub-lounge lizard vocals on top of it... I know, I know, he thinks he's a genius, ha ha... In his hubris he's shitting on his own creation.
