Surely it is a bit late now when the guy is dying of cancer to suggest his conviction may be bad..

The bombing was in December 1988.

Al-Megrahi wasn't even handed over for trial until 1999 and not convicted until 2003. Sure there've been a few doubts since. I guess the current upsurge of interest in his case mainly is down to his state of health - which is understandable, if not right.

Yes - I do think he should be relased on compassionate grounds.

What he did was heinous, if indeed it was just him, however even if it was I would still release him.

I just feel it would be the human and humane thing to do and that marks us i.e. as in the people who release him, from the people who commit such atrocities
