Rejecting vaccination - "growing public health time bomb", NHS Chief warns

I got chicken pox for first time in my 30s and it fucked me up, proper did a job on me. My face turned into a bollock and it zapped my energy for about two months. Horrible.
It's the only thing I didn't catch as a kid.

It makes sense to vaccinate kids against it though, even if they're unsure how long it provides protection.

live had it at least 3 times. Twice as a kid and once when I was 25. I’m pretty sure I also had it in my late 30s but was on holiday in Italy and the doctors/hospital wouldn’t believe you could have it more than once. They kept saying the test said it was chicken pox but it couldn’t be if I’d had it before. Fucking horrible as an adult.

Ugh, didn't know you could get it again and again!

Don't get why Marty1 is still here tbh. I don't think he's a troll more a sincere sort of boring idiot but coming here to recommend david Icke and now anti-vax shit? Zero tolerance for that sort of thing is what i thought made this website different.

He works for A*a*o*, apparently

yep. It’s pretty rare but some people don’t develop any immunity to it.
According to my mother I had the measles twice (after having a bad reaction to the first half of what was then a two part vaccine). Never been sure whether to believe her about that.

i too got it in my 30s. was covered in the blisters from head almost to toe, thank asclepius it didn't grow on the bottom of my feet. i was told not to take aspirin (the combination of pox and aspirin leads to a condition called reye's syndrome, which causes brain damage and can be fatal) and was quarantined (at home, at least) for 5 days. when i ventured out, one person literally shrank back at the sight of me. too soon i guess! :D

When I had it in Italy, my friends didn’t understand why I didn’t want to go to the beach with them covered in blistered spots that were starting to scab!
That was Mr Shakes and I first proper holiday together, he spent most of it driving me to and from doctors and stopping me scratching myself to death! The romance

Impetigo was the worst. I was shunned by all the other kids in the street, even the lad from what was considered to be the roughest family in the street was forbidden by his mam to associate with me :(

There's no vaccine for that yet, though (and it's not a good candidate for one AFAIK).

And the anti-vax stuff probably makes vaccines for any contagious diseases less likely.

I'm amazed these cunts aren't getting summarily battered when they turn up

VACCINE MANDATES VIOLATE BODILY AUTONOMY

That's technically accurate, though the person affected tends not to be able to consent in an informed way for the most important early vaccines.

my head's gonna explode

NPR Choice page

"The World Health Organization and the CDC say in a new report that there were nearly 10 million cases of measles last year, with outbreaks on every continent.

An estimated 140,000 people died from measles in 2018, WHO says, up from an all-time low of 90,000 in 2016."

Mrs NBE has AIH and is is on some FB groups. somehow that anti vaxxers- Americans usually - seem to be infiltrating some of the sites and peddling immunity diets amongst other cure shite & links to antivaxx pages ,to get some traction amongst people who have legitimate diagnosed health concerns. Its as if they are on a crusade to spread these ideas as far as possible. Like a virus.
