Rape, sexual assault and harassment in the entertainment industry

Hold on, just to be clear .. Ryan Adams and Bryan Adams are two different people. Bryan Adams as far as I know mostly known for being a generally pretty good egg (behaviour-wise, not necessarily music-wise). He's the vegan one. The one without the B is the sex pest.
Sorry, mojo pixy I was being flippant. I was just trying to outdo Idris2002 by pretending I hadn’t even heard of him. (I know the name but couldn’t tell you what his music sounds like). I’d forgotten the sex pest revelations.

Off topic, but I got dragged to see Bryan Adams years ago at Wembley, and he was actually really good. I liked it when he introduced 'Summer of 69' with This song is not about the year nineteen sixty-nine...

I just had to chime in because Bryan is widely considered a good sort, and I wouldn't like even one person passing by to leave the thread thinking he was rapey or pesty, because I don't think anyone's ever made allegations like that against him. He's one of those rarities, a massive rock star who's kept his humanity, and despite those 19 awful weeks at number one back in the day, and a history of cheeziness barely rivalled in the world of pop music, I have a lot of respect for him as a person.

I sold Bryan some CDs once. He's pint sized and had a huge rucksack on like a little year 7 kid on his first day. He didn't want to take it off, so he made me open up the rucksack and put the CDs in there. Was very polite and affable about it, mind, though he wasn't popular in the area.

Glen Medeiros spoke out, unafraid to rock the boat since hes been out of the industry for a long time.

He also mentioned the other unmentionable:
a young mariah carey was made a star by mafia connected tommy mottola, head of cbs, who she ended up married too - that marriage was an abuse of power too, mottola admits it

A friend of mine once went for a job as his P.A.
She didn't get it but he rang her personally to to tell her and wish her good luck in the future.

Good guy Bryan

To be honest I like the track he did with Chicane

With some bands/performers, it's the usual case of accusations and rumours that were ignored and finally get caught up in a bigger movement such as #MeToo. Then others, it's not even hiding in plain site, like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. A singer who admits he's a rapist and writes fucking songs about it and then other band members who have assaulted women on TV and at gigs (and generally were known for assaults throughout their career). Why are they still a band with a recording contract? Answer, money and an industry that doesn't give a shit of course. As an example, I wonder if all that history came out now, would they be dropped by... heads off to look... Warner Brothers? A quick search suggests Manson has been dropped by Loma Vista.
Plant, Page, Bowie etc etc.

can't help thinking iggy pop might have had a better or at least happier 1969 if he'd had the same attitude

tho a quick search (and i'm sure it's already on the thread) shows he slept with a 13 year auld girl, and later wrote a song about it

So, when Clarke's lawyer goes home to his/her family and gets asked what did you do today daddy/mummy? 'Oh, I wrote a 29 page letter knocking back the allegations of sexual misconduct made against Noel Clarke from 20 women'. Well done eh?

I think you need to look into how the legal system works. Lawyers don't have to believe in their client's innocence, they just have to do their best to get them found not guilty (or a reduced sentence). Personally, I don't know how the cunts sleep at night, but it's simply a game to them. They couldn't give a flying fuck if you're guilty or not. All they care about is the win.

Lot of background work in that article . Obvs for legal to decide on what if anything happened. Telly people who have to come up against these kinda reports don’t usually have a blooming career afterwards ( I know , I know) . He’s fucked now

I do know how the legal system works and I'm making exactly the same point as you - ' I don't know how the cunts sleep at night'.
