You're still equating people voicing their criticism with censoring him. If his show's ratings dropped as a result of viewers being turned off by his comments, would they be "censoring" him?

Censorship is forcing someone not to say or write something. Simply suggesting that it's a bad idea to say whatever it is is not censorship. People like to pretend it is but that's because they're hypocritical mendacious wankers.

I think you're confusing censorship with pandering. Corden wrote (or at least approved) the jokes. When he was faced with criticism he had two choices: say it was comedy and maybe not to everyone's tastes or apologise.
He chooses the latter because he's got a career he needs to baby.
Possibly if you changed your future language as a result.
No censorship leads to self censorship.
