Prey - Best Predator Movie since the original

donkyboy

Crazy Cat/Fox man

The early thoughts of those who have seen it is positive with the lead actress getting praised for her performance. Predator has always been my favourite Arnie movie. Predator 2 was meh. Predators was OK, with a fat lawrence fishburn spoiling it. I mean, dude was stranded on an alien planet for good knows how long, so what was he eating out on, Burger King?

I have no interest in seeing the previous one written directed by Shane Black.

The less said about the alien v predator movies, the better.

Predator 2 is a great action movie and a true sequel to the original

Arnie was off making twins at the time :hmm:

the rest of the movies after where pony

trailer have given me hope for this one

do ponder if this one going to explain why Danny glover character was given the flintlock in the second movie for
killing the predator

The less said about the Aliens v Predator movies the better? You absolute heathen! The second one is a classic.

This new one seems exciting I think. It's taking the franchise somewhere different which is a good thing imho.

It's reviewing really well. Takes it back to the basics of the original: Only way to beat it is to outsmart it. Use cunning and knowledge of the land.

95% RT: Prey - Movie Reviews

Streaming only because the original 20th Century contract said it must go to HBO if shown in cinemas. Now Disney owns Fox, they don't want that, so straight to Disney+ it goes.

I always assumed the pred that Glover kills is a trainee pred earning his first kills and Glover is given the old weapon as a trophy, mark of respect for having taken it out. This also explains why an ageing city cop is able to hunt and kill the pred, whereas the pred from the original film wipes out a combat hardened special forces unit, barring Arnie.

I wonder if they would add that gun in there somehow?

Also, I bet (in fact GUARANTEE) the very first shot is going to be of a shot in space of a ship dropping the predator off as in the first movie.

Disney+ only, in the UK at least. I thought for some reason it had become available today and was disappointed to find out it ain’t.

That'll do for me. A friend very kindly gave me her Disney+ sign in details a while back.

After reading this thread, I scanned my Disney+ options and did not see this (Prey) movie available... I've seen the trailer and it looks fantastic.
has it not been released yet?

Just finished downloading it. Got the 2160k version. Going to transfer it to USB and plug to the smart tv to watch it on the "big screen".

Watched the opening first few seconds. I was wrong about ship in the intro. They missed an opportunity there.

Does it get any better? I'm almost half way through and so far its the most boring thing ive seen in years. Two very brief sightings of the predator in amongst terrible teenage dialogue between native americans in 1791 with new york accents.

ok, gave up. it's terrible. interested to hear what others think.

Just seen it. Not bad. Certainly better than the previous rubbish. Did take a while to get going. Wont be revisiting it, though. Wish it was more gory. Native americans with accents was odd. Don't know why the french parts weren't subtitled in English. And I was right about the gun from Predator 2. Cannot see where they will go from here in terms of any further movies.
