post your rubbish tunez

Oh and last one for luck....though this is a story I wrote (true story) that I put to music.

That, Clair, is fucking fantastic :cool::cool: One thing (and I can't talk cos the volume on my stuff was shite) but when it picks up, the guitar drowns out your voice quite a lot.

I think you should do some more of these - I've got a mate who does something very similar, haunting poems and stories about war, his family etc, and a band of 4 amateur musicians backing him up (each still learning to play various instruments). It's in that space between music and poetry - fucking love it

I'm working on something at the minute that looks like it will be good for a change but it's at a mates studio.

I have to settle for reason, recyle and soundforge at home but I've just got reason 6 so I'll post something truly rubbish later.

Reason is cool though, it means I can work on just the groove and shuffle and then take it to the pro gear later. Not that reason can't be pro, it's pretty damn good.

Truly awful version of No need to argue :D

my excuse is I am tired and my son headbutted me in the lip

Awful that is not, Clair, it's fucking great. I've heard people play and sing on live music nights in pubs that weren't half as good as that. No, make that a quarter as good.

Seriously, who's been telling you you're crap? You're anything but. Listen to some early Joan Baez sometime, you're very much like her on that song. I'm serious.

Aww ta MP :) That's very kind of you, when I Iisten to it I hear lack of practice and the mistakes more than anything else. I haven't done an open mic night in a long time...I tell a lie I was asked to accompany a mate doing one a few months back but it was spur of the moment so no time for nerves to kick in and change my mind :D We sung 'there ain't no sunshine' and it went down quite well tbf.

Aww thanks tar  this remains scarier than the naked thread, ha! First time I have picked up my guitar in weeks though...and it is a good sign, I am always happiest when I am playing music :)

I am really trying to build up to playing an open mic night (I know I have been saying it for ages haha) but going to make it my mission this summer. I have a few people who I have met through college who for whatever reason I feel more comfortable singing in front of, so I am going to invite them when I do it for moral support...and choose a pretty dead pub to do it in :D Think it will be good for me though. I do believe it is good to do things that scare us from time to time :)

Not heard you for a while tar...any chance of a Friday night ditty for an illy clair? ;)

haha I am on my second glass of wine with full on flu....it really is helping rather a lot :D

Playing tunes is also distracting me from the fact I am missing an awesome piss up for my mates birfday

Oooh I like that. I am not clever enough to do that thing where the guitar has a sorta second harmony :D
Nice lyrics too, ya big old softy ;)

I haven't written anything positive for a while..perhaps I should try

Second harmony is just a basic lead section (on a separate track) - learn the major scale :D

Ahh ok, not as difficult as I thought then.
I saw a guy play once...what was his fucking name, can't remember :( But he did the bass part, rythym and lead all at once. Total cunt tbf :D

I just attempted something well out of my comfort level :D weird tuning and shit.
This is my first go recording it so has the usual giggles and ergh um wibbles.

Cover of Nick Drakes- Place to be. I adore Drake and feel guilty murdering his song haha

TBH I've never liked nick Drake much. Well only heard one album. His voice sorta grated on me. That works though. Like that repeating chord pattern.

Reckon it would sound really haunting on an electric guitar, clean sound with lots of haunting reverbe.

Ignore me though that's my answer for everything that isn't metal...

i reckon that's shaping up lovely clair

got my guitar out for the first time in weeks and it was still in tune  this one's for bee (an improvement on last nights half-cut effort ;)) complete with scary "concentrating" faces i never realised i pull before i started doing vids
