post your rubbish tunez

Just sat at home, played some free flowing things ignoring that I was recording myself. Ferrets squabbling in the background. Lots of bum notes, mistakes but it goes places and looking back it is strangely coherent.

Found this one on the hard drive from many years ago, back when I actually owned a bass guitar.

It's very demo tapey and I clearly forgot to write an ending but I still like it.

The strings are getting old so this isn't the "best sound", though on a nylon string guitar the "best sound" can be just a bit too much fire and sometimes you want to be a bit more subdued. I play completely differently depending on how the strings are. I think that's the way to go - don't be the master of the instrument but rather play to it like you're entering a partnership.

Anyway this little thing I did this morning comes out well I think. It's a complete hodge podge of jazz, flamenco, extended techniques, tiny melodies that don't go anywhere and blues (at the very end), but it hangs together somehow I think and it's only a minute of easy going but unsettled heap of twiddles. I find if you use the bass string as a gong-like drone, you can put a bit distance on things and well, hang them together. Not sure I like the little bluesy ending though, it's one modal shift too far.

Woody Guthrie's guitar was a machine that killed fascists. Unfortunately my guitar gives helpful advice to fascists. Behold our new composition. It's called Watch out! Bricks!

So I found a raga groove and hit record and realised afterwards that was a thing. The vocals are a bit embarrassing as I felt they needed to be there and I needed words but didn't have any.
