Solid Jive Vol 2 is probably my favourite of the lot. It's got some less obscure stuff on it but Louis Jordan, Sam Butera (with an uncredited Louis Prima singing) and LaVern Baker...

Got a copy of Jim Dandy, but just had a look and it's not with the other LaVern Baker's. It's a constant battle keeping the records in any sort of sensible order - respect to all who manage :D

I have two systems - stuff which is properly sorted, and recent acquisitions/stuff I've been playing. Every 6 months or so, I have to tidy up the recent stuff and put it in the "proper" system. It is sometimes pleasing, but sometimes a pita, if one particular shelf gets too full and I have to do a full sort out.

Oops, that was last year, just took a new one - it was only when I looked at it here, I noticed - the old eyeball skills are fading, no detail at all when looking at thumbnails with no specs on!!:mad:

The changes? :- new amp and mixer....and some more tunes, but the only ones you can indentify I have had for a while......no matter, I love my "plastics" - one of my neighbours teenage relis had heard the music, was surpised it was an ancient white bloke playing it on appaently stone age equipment. She knocked on my window, asked if he could have a look I showed him round, he thought it was really cool we could actually do stuff with all this mechanical stuff, then he asked me how many plastics I had. Nice kid. Me and Auntie agreed that to youth it must be a constant surprise that we managed to survive in such primitive times. They would have a point. I am beginning to sound very much like my Grandpa n thats what I wondered about him.
