On paper this is probably the most exciting group stage match. Whichever team wins this is almost guaranteed to win the group which adds a bit more pressure.

Spain are the favourites but they have had a fairly dramatic past week! If they (Ramos) can keep Ronaldo under wraps then I can't see Spain losing.

The squads have 43 Champions League winners' medals between them (Spain 34, Portugal nine)

The winners of this game are pretty much guaranteed progression to the knock out stage imo. I think it will be a close tactical game .Whilst a lot of focus will be on Ramos v Ronaldo for me the Costa v Pepe battle is going to be important both players very strong and short tempered. Portuguese players to keep an eye on: Guedes who plays wide or as a second striker, William Carvalho and Joao Moutinho in midfield and my favourite the enigmatic veteran winger Quaresma ( who'll prob come on as a sub).

I had my photo taken with him several years ago. He was OK. He also does a lot of work for charity, but I know what you mean.

Its 30c here know and I've had three bottles of Sagres whilst doing a bit of shopping and then feeding the dogs. I'm going to the bar try a white port with tonic with loads of ice , slice of lemon and a sprig of mint and get into the build up for the game. Its at times like this you wish the Portguese bars had big screens but we are stuck with 40" ones here.
