Should we have a Climate Change forum?

Seeing as how important climate change is and how it will affect much of our lives and most of us, it isn't unreasonable to have a special sub forum for it.

I really want to start a thread about exterior solid wall insulation, which will include the politics and practicalities of applying external insulation to the 8 million solid wall homes in the UK at around £10,000 each, and without which abolishing gas boilers is going to be very difficult. I don’t think that the Science forum, Suburban, or UK Politics have sufficient scope for this, so I’m holding off until the new forum.

As it's such a major threat, it makes sense to create a new forum for it - rather than shove it in one of the existing ones. As said earlier, it does touch on multiple areas, but doesn't naturally sit in a given silo, so a specific climate change subforum is the best way to deal with this.

Can we get this then please editor ?
Sorry I've got a lot of stuff on right now and creating the forum and moving the posts about will take some time. I'll do it when I get chance, after I get around to the Brexit forum which was also voted for.

It's not like the topic is going to go out of date any time soon!

Edit: if you want to help, maybe you could compile a list of threads that should be moved to the new forum?

I know that the topic has moved on a bit since this was being discussed but…
If climate change isn’t a political topic, I don’t know what is.

IME it's easy for forums to bloat. Then with all the atomised little subforums, it can start to look half dead, with fewer posts/sub-forum overall. Which has a kinda self-fulfilling deadening effect (nobody wants to hang around a dead space). But then good luck getting everyone to agree to merge all the half-dead subforums back together.

Is it possible for a thread to be live on two forums simultaneously? I wonder if some of the Science forum threads could have that applied if so.

There's a general climate change thread on there, plus one on heat pumps. Whilst I haven't taken part in the latter I wonder if that could be better suited here.
