Oven Chips - A Revised Opinion

Where's me readers?
As some of you know, I have trumpeted the qualities of Mccains oven chips, but lately, I have been very definitely swayed to the (far superior) tesco finest chunky oven chips

Quite frankly, unless I've been very lucky, they are QUALITY. Almost tastes like real potato :cool:

we've had them when they've been on special offer, and yes, they're quite nice. we're on co-op crinkle cut chips tonight :D
 
i think there's been major leaps forward in oven chip technology lately.

when i consider the vile excuses for chips that my mum used to give me as a child, some of the chips on offer these days are pretty damn good :cool:

i was very lucky in some ways as a child - we only ever had chips done in lard, in the chip pan. my mum could do 3 different types of chips, on demand. it's all about the double-dip n that
 
Oven chips are OK if you cook them for about twice as long as it says on the packet.
 
I've just realised I haven't cooked chips for nearly two years.

Christ.

tbh no matter how much better oven chips are then they were years ago they still aint a patch on proper chippy chips - I very rarely eat the oven things - I only have them in for 1 particular mate who loves em - so unless you used to cook your own you aint missing out.
