On this thread, we like synthesisers.

I'll do something just for fun when I have time  it's gonna be weird though...

Have a single off our new album coming out on Moshi Moshi on Monday. A lot of those keys are featured on the single / album.
weird is good. what's your band called? Moshi Moshi are a great label...

There's a MK3 Synare for sale on eBay atm. Looks like it was thrown in an industrial dryer with half a ton of cobble stones for an hour or so. Still works, apparently. That's $400. Or there's a good condition MK3 for $3,400.

The synare is fun and everything, but tbh it rarely comes out. I wouldn't spend $400 on a battered one.

What would you say were the meat and potatoes of your studio gear, as far as just sitting down and getting an initial idea out? Synths or whatever.

very much depends on the style of music tbh. If it's song based it will def evolve round the piano and guitar. For groove based electro stuff I love the 808 - pro1 - juno 6 combo. I link them up: 808 for the beat, pro1 for the bass line and juno for arps / melody. It's dead easy for me to dial something in that way and to work on chord progressions. But it depends so much on the style and my mood and whatever is required.

I haven't been writing that much recently tbh. I used to work in film soundtracks and wrote constantly. At the moment I'm more into production. Taking somebody's ideas apart and shaping them into something. Working on sounds and structures. I get a lot of satisfaction out of it.
And mixing. I do a lot of mixing and I love it.

B uploaded them for me...

It's a jam we did a little while ago, so today , inspired by this thread, I dug them out and tidied them up and mixed them.

It's a trypticon, it has three parts to it.
