On this Day in History.

Almost missed this particular anniversary (Sept 10)

On this day 30 years ago, the (music) world changing single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was released by Seattle rock group, Nirvana.

It made Guns'N'Roses and all the hair metal bands seem (for a brief time) redundant.

Seven years ago today, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was murdered by a terrorist who launched a vicious attack against our nation and our democracy.
Today we remember and honour Corporal Cirillo, a Canadian hero who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. May he rest in peace.

The terrorist was shot when he entered the parliament buildings.

13 august 1977, the 'battle of lewisham' when a national front march was resisted.

there's a lot written about it, this one is new -

June 4th 1977 God Save Gordon McQueen

On this day in history England was invaded by 20,000 guys resembling a Bay City Rollers fan convention who hadn't got the memo that June 1977 was supposed to be the summer of punk rock and silver jubilee street parties.
