i get akubusi's point, but bolt knew he'd won the 100, 30 m from the line, he still broke the world record, he's 21, he was on the biggest sporting stage, i'd have done the same (at 43 my chances of doing the same seem to have gone though)

Im not disagreeing with you- the showboating was truly joyous! Its just as a former world class athlete Kris (along with lots of people ) would have wanted to see Bolt go flat out.
The talk of sleeping in and eating nuggets on race day while totally cool, does go against conventional wisdom.

Yeah I heard Akabusi on 5live this morning. He actually sounded really angry that Bolt jogged to the line in the 100m. I think he thought it was taking the piss out of less talented athletes. Jealousy maybe?

I have some sympathy with that - it was quite disrespectful. He got away with it, IMO, by being such a thoroughly sweet laid back guy.

What I want to know is, are there loads of would-be basketball players out there studying his technique, ready to take sprinting onto a whole new level - or is he a one-off? Johnson had a weird Benny Hill style - has anyone copied him with any success?

Just reminding everyone including Kris that Bolt is 21....just because he runs and wins like an age-old wise magician doesn't mean he is emotionally and intellectually developed to that level. He behaves just like any other 21 year old.
