Old Skool Hardcore

Hypnosis, Only For The Headstrong and Psychosis are three tunes I'll never tire of

And Out of Your Head
and the SL2 remix of hypnosis
Psychotropic records are wonderful... beautiful and simple...rightly overplayed but still so great
Only For The Headstrong is my favourite of the lot and possibly even all time favourite bit of electronic dance music....love it...perfection.. + memories of course

Strong claim.
not saying its objectively The Best or expect anyone else to care for it, just a personal favourite - fell in love with it as i was getting in to electronic music, found it mind blowing then and full of the warmth of e vibes before id ever done one - like going back to the womb...in space.... still captures that warmth to me now, though maybe just a few too many memories attached to it now, weighing it down a little.....

im currently working through a nasty virus, getting over a bike crash and feeling midwinter blues on top so cant really handle anything too dark - but Are You Sure Ill Be Okay is a good question!

a lot of oldskool tunes no longer trigger memories of the atmosphere of the time for me, maybe from overplaying, or maybe they just havent stood the test of time quite as well, but there are still a few tunes that no amount of time will shake off the sweat, lazers, doved-up goosebumps and smell of dry ice... slightly slower breakbeat, sweet stabs, cutting from light to dark and back again, that sense of excitement of being a new era in music and maybe in human history! Its all there in this one... 1991 rave magic
Rhythm Section - Nu Generation (Outta My Face)

Saw Rhythm Section do a PA at Rage in early 1992, which was my first London club experience. I'd been raving at Prism in Oxford for a while, fresh to the scene, and then we blagged a lift up to Rage one week. Amazing night (obvs) seeing how London was doing things, and thus began our weekly crusade to Rage on Thurs, back for Prism / Arena / Zodiac action in Oxford for the weekend. Happy days.

Here ya go fella, this should cheer you up :)

yeah thats a classic
i bought a refix of that in 2000, single sided etched vinyl, Babylon Timewarp ‎– Durban Poison (Calyx 2000 Remix) http://www.discogs.com/Babylon-Timewarp-Durban-Poison-Calyx-2000-Remix/release/431668
R-431668-1112567976.jpg.jpg

sounded great in the shop - got it home and immediately dropped it on the floor breaking a huge chunk out of it
never mind, it was probably shit and i just got suckered into it!

i did come across the little film that all the vocal samples from it come from a couple of years a go -a little dramatisation of soundsytem culture in 90s peckham called We The Raggamuffin...only 30mins long - pretty good

so if youve ever wondered what taht line said its
"Is a bottle like this me use and juk the youth in him back"
which doesnt make much sense out of context

All that Edge / Rabbit City etc stuff was great - always quality productions and always on thick, heavy vinyl pressings
