and £8 a month to have maxed out speeds and nobody knowing what im downloading is worth it.

I get secure maxed out speeds without paying anyone, that's the point

Maxed out speeds, encrypted files, over 2 years file retention, ssl connection - certainly worth paying $25 for 180GB of 'stuff'

Tried Newsgroups for a while (using free trials etc)

Just couldn't find the rare stuff

Private torrents sites all the way

I'll be convinced otherwise if someone offers a Newsgroup alternative to sites like What.cd (music) or thebox.bz (TV) ??

Im still trying to work out whether I can download a BLU ray image, convert it to a hi def video file and then stream it across my network..... any ideas bob?

you can download a bluray.iso and extract the .m2ts file that will be the movie. most decent media players will play them.

but to be honest you would be far better just getting 1080p .mkv files as the bluray ones will be 20-40GB and you can get a 1080p rip at around 8-14GB

Ace thanks..... I didnt even know if HD video codecs existed, and the internetz is a bit elusive when you google it.....

Will that stream alright over a router you reckon? its all 100mbp/s etherhnet.

should be fine, i tend to hard wire cos it's better, have WD Live linked up in the bedroom and living room, then just share the folders on the PC and can access everything i want on the PC in the other rooms...

i am also a Rapidshare user. i paid £50 for a year's worth of access, and it paid for itself within about 3 days. i've very rarely failed to find what i want on Rapidshare using the forum www.warez.bb.org.

i've tried newsgroups (many years ago) as well as torrents, but for some reason i couldn't get my head around them.

well mine will just be streaming from my mac to my xbox.......

thinking about getting a NAS, so I dont have to leave my comp on...... howver my comp is on sleep all the time, and then wakes up when it receives an access request from my xbox/powerbook/phone.

Has anyone downloaded the rars entitled

WIKILEAKS BESTANDEN-LET OP DIT IS NIET DE INSURANCE

with 1528 files from Wikileaks that is on usenet at the moment?

Over 3/4 of them are pdf's, a few pictures, excel files, docs, mp3s and 10% are more rars.

Just wondering if there is any good stuff in there, is it worth looking through? I think it may just be the uploads excluding cablegate & afghan/iraq logs.
