Drifting by Andy McKee. Well. I could play it. It took me nearly 3 weeks of solid practicing but I got there. I then went to Manny's Guitars (where the staff ignore you) in Melbourne to buy a new Maton and played it. People stopped and stared and stuff. I then said I'd think about it and left. I then bought it from a music shop where the staff are nice
And don't be fooled by Andy McKee's guitar playing. Bit of practice and it's defo possible.

Talking about Elliot Smith. I seem to remember memory lane being very difficult to learn too but that was back when I was still grasping finger style. I should go back and see if it's any easier now.

It's not the number of chords in itself that's the problem, but chances are, if there are 38 different chords that some of them will be total fuckers in terms of finger stretching badness for a beginner

Champagne 'n' Reefer by Muddy Waters, the harmonica bits. You need a D harp. Not complicated at all, although you must master the 4/5 draw warble/trill, O young one. Oh yes. Fortunately if you manage this, you are now capable of making a passable attempt at almost any 12 bar blues song. Hoochie Coochie Man is good/easy to play along with, too.

Grade 8? Fucking hell then I'm a grade 8 guitarist. I can also play Jaco Pastorius' bass guitar version which is way better.

The "can play of the title is not entirely clear; I am attempting Au clair de la lune on the violin and I'm a believer on the ukulele. I can play the required notes/chords in the right order but the timing needs work. And in the case of the violin, intonation and bowing too.

I can't find a video of the tune I want to put, so here is a random clip of a piper playing several complicated-ish tunes which I can play. Excuse the djembe piper's good though. The tune at the end, he plays differently to me, he's got it as a 4-part, I play it as a 6-part. This will all mean fuck all if you're not a piper I suppose

Sorry but even if you hate what they do, they are very good at it. In the recent documentary the drummer from Smashing Pumpkins said if you can play any of their stuff, you'll manage most of whats required of you in a band.
