Eurostar passengers face major disruption after a protester caused trains to and from St Pancras International to be suspended.

British Transport Police (BTP) said a man had been in "a precarious position" near the station since Friday evening.

Southeastern services heading towards St Pancras from Faversham and Margate have also been affected.

A man, 44, has been arrested for trespass and obstruction of the railway.

BTP confirmed eyewitness reports the man was waving an English flag.

It follows a day where thousands of people protested in central London over delays to Brexit.
Eurostar trains disrupted by protester

Standing on a roof not designed to be walked on above busy platforms. I'd rather not be allowed onto a platform if there's a chance I could get hit by a lump like that.

To be fair, I'm sure when they designed it they took into consideration the possibility that something with weight might be atop of it at some point. If not, then there's no way I'm getting a train to Start Pancras next time it snows.

Interesting choice of landmark to protest on. A cycnic would suggest that the protester might perhaps hate not just the European Union, but Continental Europe itself and its stinky inhabitants, and as well as leaving the EU he would like nothing more than bricking up the Eurotunnel and severing the rail link that joins this country up with the rest of Europe.

It’s fine, no one’s travelling on Eurostar today anyway as French immigration officers have been on strike for the past two weeks and Eurostar’s advice has been; Do not travel.

They've advised against travel via Paris Gare du Nord, advice doesn't affect services to Brussels.

Bet they're not offering refunds though, so people will still be travelling.

I've had passengers on Paris trains today. Everything's late but they have been running.
