More railways.. (model railway)

Anyone got any ideas how bottom mounted point motors work? I've got mine all mounted and wired up. I can fire them via DCC and they make a click as if they're working but none of the points throw.

There's lots that could be wrong and I don't know where to start debugging them...

If I manually pull on the motors they switch the points. If that's of any help.

Would need to see video or at least pics to diagnose. What point motors, what points? What dcc system etc

I've decided to sell my layout of Lydd town. I've offered the Lydd Station Heritage Group first refusal on it. Offering here too if anyone would be interested if they aren't

Here's a few pics of what my WIP Lydd Layout looks like currently. I'm gonna get it all up and running and tested ready to sell. It's not a rush sale, and I may yet still lot sell. But if anyone on the boards is interested I am open to offers below market price if it goes to a good home, someone I kinda know etc etc

It also has the off scene fiddle yard and all that good stuff...

Really not the kind of thing I’m into but my dad sent me this as he loves all kinds of models. (It did seem impressive from the quick scan I had)
Apols if it’s already been posted

Would be fun to build if you had the space, time and money. Great to look at though.

Well Mumbles274 I hope you watched little trains, big names and wonder what you thought. I was blown away by the tricks, the cheats, the level of detail etc. loved the insight into Francis Rossi's background also.
I wasn't sure about straight line layouts though I understand why.
Brilliant programme.

Don't really watch telly, what channel?

I’m watching the first one on 4od. I think mr quo is in a later episode.
It was the first we have seen. He has cut his pony off :( A "trademark" for so many years.
The programme quoted live aid as the highlight of their careers - not for me, but hey, this is all about the models.

Trailer!

And in case anyone missed it:

Going back a bit, Frank Sinatra was said to own $1m worth of model trains and replicas of his native Hoboken, New Jersey, which he kept in a room called – but of course – All Aboard. Rock gods known to have private passions for tiny engines and carriages include Roger Daltrey, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and Ringo Starr. But perhaps the music and railway modelling worlds aren’t as different as they might seem.

Agree Jools' layout is amazing. Love the concept and the detail is incredible.

I know Steve Lamacq is another music person modeller (unsurprisingly, his set-up is a Great Eastern lines station in early diesel days). Anyone know of anyone else not mentioned above?

Only someone with Jool's resources could ever dream of a layout like that. What with the high tech input that many can ill afford, not to mention the amount of time and space.
The night time set up, the remote control for the trains, the cars, the sounds, the choreography ..................................
You would pay to spend a day with a layout like that; I know I would.
