More railways.. (model railway)

I've accidentally ordered myself some 009 track. The urge to make a micro layout for my 009 stock has won! I want to make something fun and interesting on multiple levels. Watch this space

:)

my dad did a bit of 009 modelling - he was a fairly early member of the Greenwich and District society
I've made one 009 layout so far. I made it for a competition on a model rail forum. Came 3rd. Ended up selling it for quite a good price. Def want to make a layout to keep.

Fucking hell, just looked back for the vids. It was 14 years ago!!

So is 009 like narrow gauge HO/OO? (yes I could google it but it's more interesting to have it answered here)

Sort of, yes.

It's narrow gauge (9 mm track) but about on the same scale as OO is.

There are almost certainly some layouts where an OO gauge line meets an OO9 narrow gauge line.

Subscribed.

009 is basically n gauge track but at 4mm scale rather than 2mn. There is dedicated track with sleepers for 4mn scale rather than 2mn scale N gauge track

But would H0 gauge be ‘H zero’ or ‘HO’? Other gauges are letters, N, Z, TT etc.

Might work here

I might actually be wrong because wiki seems to say it is OO rather than 00. The 9 is for 9mm so I've no idea what the OO means.
Once upon a time, there was O, OO, and OOO. OOO "became" N.

I've always assumed that they were letter-O, not zero, since most scale designators are letters (except for "1" :hmm:). But ICBW.
