More police brutality than you can shake a stick at.

Wasn't sure where to put this. A protest against police in a park in Omaha resulted in a number of arrests.

AHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Police arrested seven people Saturday night after a protest at the police officer’s union was declared unlawful.

Those arrested will face various charges, including trespassing, failure to disperse, disorderly conduct, obstructing law enforcement, littering, and unlawful assembly, OPD Officer Michael Pecha said in an email Sunday morning. Alexander G. Matthews, a Problac organizer also known as “Bear Alexander,” and Paul Shan are also each facing an additional charge of inciting a riot, according to OPD arrest reports.

Members of the group were talking through megaphones for about 20 minutes and placed “three severed pig heads wearing costume police hats” in the lot, the email states.

According to police, following a gathering “advertised as a ‘Pig Roast’ ” at Montclair Park, between 40 and 50 people entered the Omaha Police Officers Association parking lot, located at 13445 Cryer Ave., at 8:49 p.m. Saturday.

According to Omaha Police, the crowd was informed via a PA system that they were trespassing on private property and told multiples times over 10 minutes to disperse. Police declared the gathering an “unlawful assembly” at 9:10 p.m., and made additional announcements for the crowd to disperse, OPD said. Officers then advanced on the crowd to begin making arrests, at which point those still assembled fled into the streets.

Overnight, Conner posted photos of the pig heds on his Facebook page, calling it a “despicable act.”

It amazes me that they're losing their shit over a few severed pigs heads.

What worries me is the open promise to violate the constitution by our Governor :

On Sunday evening, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts retweeted Conner’s post containing the same photos, calling the incident “disgusting and vile... We are a law-and-order state and will work to stop anti-cop movements that want to defund the police.” The governor ended his tweet with the hashtag #BackThe Blue.

"It's a joke, but it isn't a joke, because Bosque is a violent convicted criminal in uniform and there's nothing anyone can legally do about it."

for your own mental health don't read the other articles on that page. not that the one i linked is alright exactly.

Hate to agree with the NRA, but just sometimes, maybe a good guy with a gun is what you need.

Worked in Canada - good guy with a gun killed a bad guy.

Dude shot an unarmed soldier at the war memorial in Ottawa.
He then ran into the parliment buildings.

He was shot by the head of security.

On October 23, MPs in the House of Commons gave a standing ovation to Vickers for his heroism.

As Mulcair of the New Democratic Party put it: "Just as we have all borne witness to these horrific acts, we have watched in awe your acts of courage, now an abiding emblem of Canadian strength, values and valour."

The first order of business was a moment of silence for Cirillo.[unarmed honor guard] Prior to the day's session,

Harper laid a wreath at the War Memorial; MPs from all parties attended a moment of silence and sang "O Canada" at the Memorial before walking together to Parliament.

The flags at Parliament Hill and other federal government buildings were also flown at half-mast.

US police flipped over a pregnant woman's car because she took too long to pull over for them, according to court documents.

Nicole Harper says she was looking for a safe place to park when officers performed a botched PIT manoeuvre and sent her flying through the air.

Terrifying patrol car footage of smoke billowing from the overturned car has surfaced as Ms Harper sues Arkansas State Police for negligence.

Nicole can be heard on the dashcam video screaming out that she's pregnant before attending officer Rodney Dunn allegedly replies: "This is where you ended up".

According to Nicole she had been driving on a highway in Jacksonville last June when she noticed a police car behind trying to flag her down.

She had put on her hazard lights and slowed down searching for a place to stop which is in line with Arkansas Driver License Study Guide.

The PIT move is a pursuit tactic used by police to bring car chases to an end by forcing a fleeing vehicle to turn sideways sharply.

Police say she refused to pull over after the officer flashed his lights at her.

The force grants officers immunity from suit and liability while they are on duty, meaning that individual members of the force are not deemed personally responsible for such incidents.

Nicole's lawyers say Officer Dunn "chose to use a deadly force against a pregnant woman who was in the process of looking for a safe place to stop".

She has brought a lawsuit against both Officer Dunn and Arkansas State Police in the hopes that it will change the department's PIT policy.

A Chicago cop has been issued a five-day suspension amid an investigation into his ties to the far-right Proud Boys and is now facing a second internal probe into allegations of sexual abuse, the Sun-Times has learned.

Officer Robert Bakker is the subject of four internal investigations that were all opened last year, according to records obtained by the Sun-Times.

Just as an aside it's really weird that so many fascists turn out to be paedos too, don't suppose the numbers are yet statistically significant but there's something to investigate there. Or is it the other way round, that so many paedos are fascists?

I suppose with like the Order of Nine Angles and that end of stuff it'd be actively promoted, they're probably a bit of an outlier compared to general far right stuff though.

I seem to recall reading that uniformed or ex-uniformed people like armed forces, police and prison officers are disproportionately paedophiles.

This lot certainly aren't cops, but:

In the weeks before a gunman allegedly killed two officers in separate shootings last year, prosecutors say he and other members of an extremist militia known as the Grizzly Scouts held firearms trainings, scouted protests, and laid out terms of “war” against police.

In recent court filings, federal prosecutors in the Bay Area have revealed the most extensive details yet on the investigation into the May 29, 2020 fatal shooting of Federal Protective Service Officer Dave Patrick Underwood in Oakland, and the June 6, 2020 killing of Santa Cruz Sheriff Sgt. Damon Gutzwiller in an ambush in Ben Lomond.

The documents paint a picture of the alleged shooter, Steven Carrillo, not as a lone actor but a member of a Northern California-based anti-government organization that — in its rhetoric and actions — was preparing for deadly attacks on law enforcement. The Grizzly Scouts — most of whom are still at large — identify with a loosely-affiliated, nationwide militia movement that uses the name “Boogaloo” and favors Hawaiian shirts and violent rhetoric, but the Scouts’ activities appear to be more carefully plotted.

The court filings were submitted in the case against four other alleged Grizzly Scouts members, including the group’s leader, who are accused of destroying evidence relevant to the Underwood and Gutzwiller murder investigations. They were written as part of a failed attempt to keep all four defendants in jail pending trial; a federal magistrate ultimately decided three of them were not a danger to the community nor a flight risk.

In April, a federal grand jury indicted Jessie Alexander Rush, 29, of Turlock; Robert Jesus Blancas, 33, of Castro Valley; Simon Sage Ybarra, 23, of Los Gatos; and Kenny Matthew Miksch, 21, of San Lorenzo, on charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice. Blancas, the only defendant who remains in jail, also faces a child enticement charge related to alleged sexual conversations with a teen girl that were discovered during the investigation.

The Met not covering themselves in glory here. Guy arrested and held for 18 hours for no discernible reason whatsoever. Accused of assaulting a police officer but later released without charge. (thread)

The LAPD fireworks explosion/carbomb thing is fucking weird:

Residents of a South Los Angeles neighborhood were demanding answers Thursday after a Los Angeles Police Department fireworks seizure ended with a huge explosion that injured 17 people and left homes and cars damaged.
Observing the scene was Marta Elba, 61, who had walked from her home at Griffith Avenue and 28th Street to ask police how she could be reimbursed for a broken window caused by the blast.
Elba said police told her she needed to call her insurance company. She said she didn’t understand why, if the damage was caused by police.
“The damage was caused by them,” she said, nodding toward the site of the explosion. “The problem was here.”

Elba, who has lived in the neighborhood for 40 years, said she was at home showering when she felt her house shake as if an earthquake had struck and heard what sounded like a very loud explosion. She ran outside where neighbors had gathered. “We were all trying to figure out what had happened,” she said.

At home Thursday afternoon, she stood by the side of her house where the window had shattered. Broken glass remained on a panel and the rest of it had been swept up.

Juan Pena, who also lives at the house, said the explosion felt as if a large bomb had gone off.

He said he still needs to check the rest of the house for any other damage. “I don’t think they should have tried to detonate here,” Elba said.

“The city needs to take responsibility for all this,” Pena added.

The blast occurred Wednesday inside a special LAPD semi-truck that had been used to contain and safely detonate fireworks and other explosives.

The truck was parked in front of a house in a residential neighborhood where the fireworks were found. Both law enforcement officials and residents were in the area at the time.

An LAPD bomb squad transferred a portion of the improvised devices into the iron chamber of the truck, which with its outer containment shell was built to withstand an explosive force greater than from the amount that was placed inside, Police Chief Michel Moore said.

Police detonated some of the devices at 7:37 p.m., believing that the vehicle would be able to contain the explosion, but there was a “total catastrophic failure of that containment vehicle,” Moore said.

“Clearly, protocols were followed and pursued, but something happened in that containment vehicle that should have not happened and we don’t know why,” the chief said. “We intend to find out why.”

Moore promised a comprehensive review of the incident that would take into account the age of the containment vehicle and its history, as well as the power of the improvised explosives.

Pena and Elba said they know the family that lives across from the house where the fireworks were discovered. They said family members were home and suffered cuts to their faces from broken glass. They said the family is staying at a hotel and family members are still recovering from their injuries.

Pena said he wants to know what went wrong.

About six houses away, 25-year-old Celeste Garcia sat outside her apartment complex. She said the explosion shook her building and knocked out a painting and some decorations.

“It felt like a big earthquake,” she said. “You could hear the explosion. Honestly, I thought a bomb had gone off.”

Garcia said her aunt who was outside said she felt a gust of air from the explosion.

Two doors down, Louis Price, 53, said he felt that same gust. He said he was working on a friend’s car when he heard the explosion along with glass shattering. “I ducked,” he said. “That’s what you do because you never know when the next one is coming.”

He said a window on the apartment complex broke because of the explosion. He heard that windows of other buildings had also been broken.

“Why didn’t they do this somewhere else?” he said. “Why didn’t they water down the explosives and move them somewhere else?”

When the explosion happened, he said, he thought perhaps it was a terrorist attack because he had never heard such a loud explosion before.

“It takes a lot for a building to shake,” he said.

He said he’s glad no one was killed despite the damage and the scare for residents.

On Thursday, Valeria Guerrero started a GoFundMe account for her relatives affected by the blast. She said several members of her family were injured and hospitalized, plus they were displaced because the house was red-tagged and their vehicles were damaged.

“Our family home and means of transportation have been completely disrupted, and without these basic things, they have lost their livelihoods,” she wrote.

In the post she included photos of a family member in a hospital bed with facial cuts. Other photos show the family’s damaged house and vehicles with shattered windows and bent metal, including one car that flipped over from the explosion.

The family is in the process of finding temporary housing.

This here is a terrible story, even by the United States' extremely low standards. A cop shot a clearly disturbed, handcuffed young man dead inside a police station in 2019, saying 'You're about to die my friend.' Incredibly, this is the third person he has killed - the fucker is a state paid serial killer and again, nothing has happened to the cop. The utter lack of empathy or care is just unconscionable. WARNING, the footage is truly horrible:
