More police brutality than you can shake a stick at.

Maybe not physical but this tiny little boy 🙁

Maryland police video shows officers threatening, screaming at crying child

"A police department in Maryland has released body camera video that captured two of its officers berating a 5-year-old boy who had walked away from his elementary school, calling him a “little beast” and threatening him with a beating.

The video released by the Montgomery county police department shows one of the officers repeatedly screaming at the crying child, with her face inches from his.

“Oh, my God, I’d beat him so bad,” the officer said in the child’s presence before telling him, “You do not embarrass me like this at school.”"

................................

"“Shut that noise up now!” the other officer shouted near the boy’s face. “I hope your momma let me beat you.”

One of the officers pulled out his handcuffs and closed one of loops around the child’s right wrist.

“You know what these are for?” he asked the boy. “These are for people that don’t want to listen and don’t know how to act.”"

FIVE year old boy ffs!

I have no words.

Edit: Really, though - a lot of people don’t even have memories going back that far - it’s pretty much an armed wing of the State bullying a baby. It’s quite upsetting. Poor kid. :(

Innit. I mean yeah, barely old enough to be in school in the first place, poor little fella. His mother started a lawsuit (is that how you'd say it? I don't know the US system) but I don't hold out much hope, but good luck to her and him. Cowards in uniform.

It seems like the local education authority has also picked up the case. I know that it’s not an answer to any underlying causes but I’d like to hope it’s at least encouraging in stopping it happening again.

I really hope so.

I wandered off from my school in Plumstead. They left the gates open, so I left. In hind sight, maybe going straight home was a bad choice.
But, no cops.

The police in this and other stories show that these police have no right being near these children.

There should be properly trained people dealing with the schools.

If defunding their police means less cops in schools, good. But the money has be transferred to the schools for appropriate hirings.

The Myth of the Supernegro Comes to Derek Chauvin’s Defense

"And with that, the myth of the supernegro had arrived in court. The argument the defense was making was essentially that this Black man was so large, so powerful, and so dangerous that the only thing the tiny white cop could do to stop him was to kill him."

The man described as "the supreme scholar of critical care medicine and editor or author of seven extraordinary textbooks on the subject" describes how it was done:

Don't think today's fatal shooting by Portland Police Bureau of an apparently mentally disturbed man in Lents Park has been mentioned here yet... It's made for grim reading this afternoon, almost immediately police went into robocop mode on shocked and angered local residents, lots of chemical agents used, riot squad deployed, cop claims of the victim having been armed contradicted by eyewitnesses and internal police chatter...

Several people on the ground there providing information on what's going on e.g:
