Morally dubious songs.

"But I was lost like a slave that no man could free
At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore"

Lets not worry about Death Metal, that's a genre that keeps itself to it's (sometimes incel) self.[/MEDIA]
Leave out gangsta rap and ghetto tech too?

This one, and the opening couplet in particular, seems to casually pour scorn on establishing a lasting relationship with the partner you have a child with:

I thought Ryder wrote that about his own father, sort of confirmed in a later verse when the son replies.

You missed the best verse!

O Lord our God arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall!
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all!

Everybody has a verse they don't sing. The Americans:

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation,
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n rescued land,
Praise the Power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto—"In God is our Trust;"
And the star-spangled Banner in triumph shall wave,
O'er the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

The Germans:

Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
Über alles in der Welt,
Wenn es stets zu Schutz und Trutze
Brüderlich zusammenhält.
Von der Maas bis an die Memel,
Von der Etsch bis an den Belt
Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
Über alles in der Welt!

None of those rivers are actually in Germany.

Yet.

"Although singing the song was briefly banned by the American military authorities after World War II, playing or singing the first and second verses—which are not officially part of the national anthem—is not a criminal or prohibited act today; [39] [40] However, the singing of the first verse in particular is sometimes seen in public opinion as an expression of a nationalistic attitude."

Has the Prodigy's "Smack my bitch up" ever been viewed how the band saw it. They wanted it to be a parody of rap. Not sure it ever was?

Yes it has- I don't have a source.
I seem to remember the band saying that the term " smack my bitch up" was referring to getting oneself revved up- ie music, drinking, coke before going out.

Stone Temple Pilots - Sex type thing. Scott Weiland said he was singing in a Devils Advocate type role but it doesn't come across that way when you listen to it.

Same for Tool Prison Sex which is about the cycle of sexual abuse. I love Tool but I find that song hard to listen to.

"I wanna play golf, bitch!" Oh-so-funny domestic violence ensues.

Like a lot of American post-punk of this era, I guess this is supposed to be edgelord 'don't you get it?' satire. I didn't think it was funny in 1988 and now it just sounds like utter shit.

A song that gets better on a scale of a) how many of you are singing it and b) how drunk you all are

They only hum the tune of "Germany, Germany Overalls" these days.
