Mens handbags?

Someone gave me a handbag yesterday. A very cool little canvas number. I like it.

However, when ever I use a handbag I'm reminded of the Seinfeld episode; 'It's not a purse - it's a European carryall'. :D

Why are handbags so gay

Why do men have wallets and women have purses? Where the fuck does it all come from?

manbags!

it's like we've fallen through a wormhole in time... manbag fever is set to sweep the boards again!

or not.

My husband has a few manbags, all made by Kipling, because I bought them for him :)

Well, I bought two for me, and he stole them.

He has a turquoise one (yes, that was mine!), a khaki one and a black laptop bag thing (but no laptop for it)

Manbags are fine*, and anyone who says otherwise is just an idiot.

Apart from the hideous one above

thats not a manbag!! thats a flippping handbag, embroidery and applique does not a manbag make. any sort of embellishment at all is more metrosexual that publicly acceptable
manbags must but be butch
and clean shaven

you can shoplift more easily if you look gay sporting a manbag
plus it gives you extra room fo ral lyour goodies!
the downside, youll be laughed at walking around the store, and the extra attention might make it hard to shoplift

My post is really more about the purse v wallet thing. Is it possibly because the man kept the notes? Or, simply that the women had a bag to put the heavy, bulky change in?

Where did the sexist convention come from?
