Someone gave me a handbag yesterday. A very cool little canvas number. I like it.

However, when ever I use a handbag I'm reminded of the Seinfeld episode; 'It's not a purse - it's a European carryall'.

Why are handbags so gay

Why do men have wallets and women have purses? Where the fuck does it all come from?

My husband has a few manbags, all made by Kipling, because I bought them for him

Well, I bought two for me, and he stole them.

He has a turquoise one (yes, that was mine!), a khaki one and a black laptop bag thing (but no laptop for it)

Manbags are fine*, and anyone who says otherwise is just an idiot.

My post is really more about the purse v wallet thing. Is it possibly because the man kept the notes? Or, simply that the women had a bag to put the heavy, bulky change in?

Where did the sexist convention come from?
