Massive massive grovelling public apology to Steve Bradley

I think gaijinboy plays football with the "right Steve" - he seems quite sound to me from what I've read/heard about him..

We all make mistakes though - even Mrs M (albeit v. v. rarely!).

I'm sure he'll enjoy having an encounter with you in a public toilet...

Are there any public toilets open though or have they all been closed due to cuts? :hmm:

eta: Sorry, forgot there's The Albert toilets open

The Steve I met was a case of oozing charm from every pore, he oiled his way across the floor and I remembered something my granny warned me about as she was using that very phrase. I shall forever think of the Steve I met as The Wrong Steve. .

Good description of Steve Reed. Yuk.

I've apologised already on the other thread for repeating what I think is a Labour Party smear about Steve Bradley being a property developer, I'm happy to apologise again here if he's more likely to read it.

It's that "regeneration" word, it makes me start to twitch.

Anyway, Sorry.

There's a lot to admire and enjoy on this thread, but having to confront three huge picture of Wrong Steve Reed as I scrolled through it is not high on my list of morning treats.

What makes it worse is that I know Steve Reed is leader of them wot's got the power at the town hall, but until I got my 'you are a total plank' email I hadn't got a face to go with the name.

I hope Wronged Steve comes back and has a good giggle at your mistake Mrs Magpie and then you got and have a nice cup of tea and a sit down, or a pint :)

Well I attempted to email him but Lambeth keep bouncing the email back.

Can't you get someone else to do it or try it from a different email address? Government departments have a habit of rejecting hotmail/yahoo/various other accounts. Maybe Lambeth's the same?

Also my googlemail account is one I use for contacting Lambeth on other matters and they've never been bounced back.

Kudos to Mrs M.
Actually not. As I said to someone else earlier If I'd been directing my comments to The Wrong Steve as opposed to The Wronged Steve it would have been fair comment. As it was I never really bothered to read The Wronged Steve's posts very often because in my head I just shuddered and thought, "I know the cut of your jib, Mr Smarm." That makes it even worse.

Peace breaks out on U75...! :D

Thanks for the apology Mrs Magpie, and apologies for my delay in responding - I'm supposedly on holiday at the moment (though not actually going anywhere. And still doing council work, annoyingly).

I was wondering why you were just making stuff up about me on this issue, but it all makes sense now. For the record - I'm quite a bit taller, slightly more receeding and considerably more Irish than Steve Reed. And infinitely less aggressive/angry... :)

For the record on the Tesco's issue - all Lib Dem cllrs voted against it, and our Streatham team have been playing a very active role in the campaign against the doubling in size of the Tesco there, the lack of continuity of leisure in Streatham (despite assurances) , and the moving of the ice rink to Popes Road. I also helped secure funding for the zero-carbon (electric bike) delivery service from Brixton Market which will hopefully help alleviate the lack of parking there, and the electric bike is stored in the 'Brixton Reuse Centre' social enterprise in a block of formerly derelict garages in my ward which I secured for the project and helped clear out etc etc. So I'm definitely on the Market's side.... ;)

On the drink - I shall happily bore you with my views on ensuring retail diversity once I get my supposed holiday out of the way. Let's aim for sometime in September.

Thanks again,

Steve

P.S. If you think having two 'Steve' councillors is confusing, be aware that there are also 3 'Councillor Bennett's in Lambeth....! :p

Have you been drinking Minnie?

Steve, good on ya. I have a question for you. What's going on with (primary) schools in Lambeth?

I'm quite a bit taller, slightly more receeding and considerably more Irish than Steve Reed. And infinitely less aggressive/angry... :)

He wasn't aggressive or angry when I saw him, he was clearly on a charm offensive, except it misfired as it was just perceived as unadulterated smarminess and all ladies of a certain age at the event instantly distrusted him. Anyway, you are gracious and magnanimous in your acceptance of my apology. I can sleep easy now.

...and I'm definitely up for buying you a drink in September.

Make it a champagne cocktail, Steve!

Also do you by any chance know if other steve has at any point donated one of his own kidneys to an ailing kitten?
