Lunch should have its own thread

Chili-roasted squash, pine nut, cherry tomato and spinach salad, but with feta instead of the usual goats cheese, which I only had a tiny bit of left. Worked fine.

Was in such a stress this morning, my 'lunch' was 2 massive chunks of cake and an entire packet of chocolate biscuits. This was 5 hours ago now though, so am starting to feel slightly less sick and repulsive. Slightly.... (wish i had more self control :()

poached eggs & garlic mushrooms on toast, but I forgot to buy mushrooms this morning so I have to go out again now to get some...

dunno yet. About to head out into sunshine and first lunch of the year eaten outside on park bench  The plan is something fresh and healthy. I really need to sort my awful diet out.

well, lunch started off well with a big healthy chickpea, lentil salady thing. Then I went and ruined it with 7 chocolate biscuits. I really need to find some other kind of stress release.

My dad came up to visit, so he took me out to the Asquith. Winter truffle risotto to start, sea bream with crab cous cous, orange segments, tomato sauce and a pistachio frangipani tart with cherry ice cream for pudding. He insisted I try some drink that's a mix of cognac and fortified wine to start, then ordered us white wine. I've had to spend all afternoon pretending I'm sober, when I've been absolutely fucked. It was fucking lush, I love when my dad visits. :D

I had my latest obsession (and a returning one, tbf) of two slices of thick white buttered toast absolutely slathered with spready cheese  Ginger and lemon tea, and two mini rolls, ahhhh

Artichoke is laid up in bed, stricken with what she is convinced is tuberculosis, which may well lead to her tragic death a la Bronte sisters.

So I've cooked up something proper - a kidney / cannellini bean, soya, tomato, stock and loads of herbs / spices thing to be layered on top of couscous.

I'm kinda surprised how good it is.

I had leftover summer roll filling from last night's tea, all fried up as a stir fry. was proper tasty. I added additional sweet chilli sauce, sesame oil & soy sauce. oh and loads more fresh coriander...

leek and gorgonzola tart which was utterly lush oh and spinach and chicory and walnut salad. and a pint of lemonade. in the sunshine.

My sister had a massive portion of linguine with a whole load of garlic.

All this week so far I've had oatcakes and tzatziki, followed by a Chomp.
And I'm still stunned that Chomps are 20p. TWENTY EFFING PEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Nice, though.

Just been to St John's with an old mate. I had the roast bone marrow and parsley salad and two pints of Wadworths 6X.

Never had it before, was quite nice and very rich, not sure I'd have it again. There was almost enough to fill the stomach of an otter. Any more though, and it would have been too rich, so the pints have gone to my head and I'm fucking hanging now. Roll on home time.

My favourite, I don't really like chocolate but these are the mini-reincarnation of my childhood obsession - the Texan bar.

They brought Texan bars back for a while a few years ago and I was delighted. Like you I loved them as a kid
But they were teeny weeny - which is fair enough, I was smaller then, so everything would be remembered as bigger - but they were bloody rotten.
The chocolate was paper thin and tasted of nowt and you had to suck the inside for about an hour before you could chew it properly. Once you started chewing it, it took forever for it to get to being small enough to swallow
I was very sad.

I wondered about that from the Blast From The Past stickers. Probably a good thing I missed them then.
