Lunch should have its own thread

Egg mayonnaise sarnie - on wholemeal bread with sunflower seeds in it and with the mustard sprouts that I did as a test batch to see if my culinary use seeds (I did a mix of black and yellow mustard seeds) would germinate - they did and the sprouts were lovely, will do some more.

Grilled chourico, presunto, more cheese ,olives and bread from the fridge .Also found a packet of apple strudels in the freezer.
Famous last words from my mate Lisa and her friend " I know you said there's enough food and we are going tomorrow but there's a market on not far from here. Why don't we go and have a look"

Didn't feel really hungry so had 2 bags of Seabrook ready salted crisps and a Magnum white chocolate ice lolly.....not very nutritious but like Gloria Gaynor I will survive :D

I sat in the local church to eat my cream cheese and sweet chili sauce butty. Apple and kiwi fruit. It was gloriously cool in there and not a soul about.

Home made baba ganoush, griddled pepper/pinenuts with a splash of balsamic, flame-toasted wraps (which turns them from meh to yay in seconds)

Ready salted

I occasionally go for other flavours (S&V sometimes hits the spot, C&O can be good alongside a Ploughman’s) but never the more exotic ones like beef or tommy K. But in actually fact, all those are all mouth and no trousers versions of the original and best, which is of course RS.

But when they changed the colours (S&V=blue, C&O=green, RS=red or red and blue…. Thats the proper order of things!) they also started putting in tons more salt. Walkers was the worst, they became inedible for me.

I started eating salt & shake crisps, and then I started using less and less of the salt in the blue bag, and now I prefer my crisps altogether unsalted.

Today’s lunch was breakfast, which I think is my favourite meal. I think breakfast of some kind would be my desert island meal, my death row meal.

Two frilly fried eggs, seasoned in the pan, with thin slivers of rich cheddar cheese laid on top so it fused into the surface. Spring onions, mushrooms and mini plum tomatoes cooked all together in butter and ghee, with spinach wilted through just before serving. Anchovy filets in place of bacon. Black Ethiopian coffee.

I ate my mature cheddar and branston pickle toastie outside under the entrance canopy whilst watching the rain, deeply inhaling all the wonderful negative ions :)
Finished with a handful of broken biscuits....the broken biscuit man turned up first time since lock down so we bought all 15 boxes off his van to share amongst us all :D

Love the idea that there is such a service..
Do hope it was the biscuits broken and not the man...

He delivers loads of things, it's a normal food van.....I used to get my butties off him until lock down, now he's back and the euphoria of the broken biscuits whipped us into a frenzy, not a lot happens in our building....if I'm lucky I get to oggle the gardener with his overalls open 😅

Is your workplace the British equivalent of the diet coke advert? :hmm:
