Lunch should have its own thread

Turned my out-of-office on at 11am and now sitting in a neighbourhood cafe treating myself to eggs Florentine and a coffee before I hit the gym. Just as well I’m going to the gym, because the pub across the room looks quite tempting and I’m thinking it’s been ages since I had a beer in the afternoon with no work to go back to….

I made a sarnie to take with me to my volunteering stint today - mozzarella, tomato, green pesto and sliced black olives. The filling was lovely (I adore mozzarella) but the bread was starting to go a little stale - it was OK, it just wasn't as good as it would have been if the bread had been fresher/nicer.

I had a slice of cheese on toast.

I did contemplate a nectarine, but I think I am going to stew them (I have rather a lot that are on the verge) and have them with rice pudding (when I get round to making it, I have milk to use up!)

Freezer-foraged chicken noodle soup (sans noodles). Needed a big protein hit after strength training this morning, and that has definitely hit the spot.

Bananananananananana. And an orange.

To try and balance the absolute carb-and-greasefest that was my tea last night, I had a tin of tuna with lighter-than-light mayo mixed in, on a plate with loads of sliced cucumber, some baby plum toms, a spring onion, and most of a little gem lettuce.

And a pear.

My partner made some sort of a magical thing with fried figs, oat yoghurt, stewed onions/tomatoes and mint oil. There were some leftover falafel-type things to throw in the mix as well, solid protein to balance out all that indulgence. I feel well fed.
That sounds well fit!

I had one of my yellow stickered bargain ready meals - meatballs with spaghetti in tomato sauce. It was surprisingly ok, I wouldn't pay full price for it, but for a 60p (or thereabouts) lunch it was definitely ok.
