I noticed that I've got 8 tins of beans that are about a year beyond the best before date - I should try one to see if I'll die from poisoning.
They're all perfectly intact - I would chuck them if they were rusty or blown.If they aren't blown out they'll be fine. If they are blown, dispose of them carefully, don't try to open (nearly took my thumb off once when a blown tin of tomato puree exploded when I pierced it with the tin opener - it ripped in half with a great big jagged metal tear, thankfully I wasn't holding it, it was on the kitchen counter, but it did cut the hand that was on the turny bit of the opener.)
