Lunch should have its own thread

I really wanted a spicy falafel and hummus wrap but have no hummus.
I fried some jarred peppers in Moroccan spice mix, and I’ve got warm pitta, falafel and feta. It’s really good but it is missing hummus still.

I got super organised this morning (working a late shift, i.e. 11.45am start) and cooked three days worth of stir-fry. Broccoli, pepper, carrots, mushrooms, plus some toasted cashew, in tasty soy-based sauce. Lime and sesame oil for sprucing up at work. Served on wholewheat noodles.

Was yummy. Now moving on to afters of Wagon Wheel and mug of tea.

Rice pudding (finally got around to making it - a baked in the oven one, lush. Considering going back in for seconds).

Toasted and buttered homebaked spicy fruit loaf, cup of decaff Columbian coffee.

Banannanananananananananannaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I love octopus, looks lush - I am quite curious though about how they delivered it to the table without spilling sauce all over, or was the sauce ladled onto the plate at the table? It really is pretty much right up to the edge of the plate :D

I really want some though, it looks very good.
I thought that when my son , who is over for five days , was vigorously cutting his pork chops . The woman , Sarah , who brought it over was wobbling around last night drinking red wine so god knows how she did it .

I completely failed to make myself a nice packed lunch for today, fortunately OH came home via the supermarket and had picked up a couple of tubs of hoummous that were on special offer and some pitta breads so I took one of the tubs and half of the pitta breads with me. Also had a hot chocolate to warm up as I'd been out in wind and on and off snow all morning, and there's nowhere indoors really to eat and it was fucking freezing.

Recipe here ( you could use fresh cod but you'd lose a bit of the unique flavour salt cod has, might work with smoked cod/haddock or perhaps Abroath smokie ? )

Awesome! I will give it a try sometime (although I say that about many recipes I never ultimately get around to :D)

The only cod I ever get my hands on comes in tiny frozen fillet portions like this

I guess I could smother it in salt when cooking it.

No dont smother it in salt. With salt cod you have to soak it in water to get rid of the salt before cooking .

I struggle to get some ingredients over here for cooking , for example, middle eastern food and curries aren't popular here , and neither is smoked fish. On the other hand, I've enjoyed dishes that I would never have had the opportunity to in the UK.

Love the look of this, too! No shortage of salt cod in my corner of South London  but had never thought to actually try and cook with it until now.

Cheese and leafy salad on a sourdough bap, Columbian coffee, bananananana, and a Braeburn apple. I've hated apples for years. Thought I'd give them a go again, seeing as I'm eating way more fruit than I used to.
