This took me back and reminded me of an old (departed and much missed) friend and one-time colleague. Sometimes his office lunches would consist of instant mash and a tin of sardines all mashed up together in his mug and heated up in the microwave in the tea urn room.

Proper mash and smoked peppered mackerel all mixed up is a fantastic dinner - so the version your colleague had would work pretty well I suspect.

I made a no-knead ciabatta cooked as a flatbread, topped with cheese, potato and bacon then grilled. Almost a pizza, but not quite.

Ham and lentil soup. 2 cheese covered crumpets. 2 milk chocolate digestives. Mug of tea.

Left over cauliflower cheese with left over roast carrots, with added bacon and hababero sauce.

There were probably two portions of cauliflower cheese left but I didn't want to keep it another day so did the noble thing.

And I enjoyed every mouthful of it ......I make the most of the canteen when I'm here on site, it would be rude not to! plus it saves me having to think about tea later on

Today back to the butty woman.....ham and cheese salad roll. Maple flapjack. Mug of tea.
