I suppose it's about what you consider new. It looks more in keeping with the 'old' Loughborough estate, which was also post-war architecture.Picture stolen from Facebook. East Berlin, 1976.

Rather "New Loughborough" I thought!
Got you there - the old Loughborough Estate as built before 1939! In any case I expect a Herne Hill resident would hardly be expected to know that us locals commonly refer to Old Loughborough or New Lougborough as a matter of convenience and orientation. Get your social housing history sorted. Up the workers and down with the bourgeoisie!I suppose it's about what you consider new. I beg your pardon? You have absolutely no idea where I live. Neither do you know anything about my class.Got you there - the old Loughborough Estate as built before 1939! "From Ruskin Park" - and on ignore.I beg your pardon? You have absolutely no idea where I live. Neither do you know anything about my class.
Still listed as a board member. The Peter Shorinwa Community Centre was referred to up thread some time back. I had not appreciated the magnificence of it.
Is Peter still with us? Surely such signature appreciation is reserved for those who have departed?

Looks like the former rent office outside Ashby House to me. But I've not visited Ashby House for a couple of years.Still listed as a board member.
I've never even seen this building.
Yes could be right. I never really have reason to go into the estate.Looks like the former rent office outside Ashby House to me.
Refurbished at great cost and is now gated with a high wall and electric gates. Hired out as the Peter Shorinwa Community Centre. Peter is a volunteer Chair of LEMB. As such his name should not be on a Lambeth building. Stroking his own ego!The Peter Shorinwa Community Centre was referred to up thread some time back. I had not appreciated the magnificence of it.

We had a very strange ranting letter through the door warning about that group, from LEMB.Taking Back Our Estate, One Voice at a Time – Loughborough Voices. If you live on the Loughborough Estate this group is for you.

Have only been there once and have been meaning to take advantage of the lunch thing for a while...View attachment 450407
I never really knew about the sushi/noodles place on Milkwood Road but a few mates took me there last weekend and it was great. 50% off food during the daytime as well, you can have a proper slap up lunch for like £15.
There is a Lambeth Democracy Twitter feed which gives links to watch meetings when they become available.Agenda for Planning Applications Committee on Tuesday 19 November 2024, 7.00 pm | Lambeth Council

The planning application for the Co living development is tomorrow.
There is a way to watch these online. I've forgotten how.
There will be speakers against the application.
Its Item three..
PS ought we to be campaigning to have Lambeth switch from Musk to BluSky?
I believe it was voted through last night......The proposed Co living development does not require onsite affordable housing.
Money in lieu is accepted instead. Which is spent in Lambeth on affordable housing.
Developer has managed to argue it down using Viability assesment to just over 9 million instead of the equivalent of 35 percent affordable which is 24 million
I believe it was voted through last night......
Regarding the Wellfit planning application - I dipped into it live, and heard some discussion about developer giving money for station improvements.
Unfortunately it was not at all clear what this was - either amount of money or what for.
I've just come back from a trip to Streatham and I see LJAG have a community noticeboard on the platform at the top of the stairs - and the petition for a lift features prominently with the QR code (for those equipped).
My fear is that Lambeth Planners might rather take some developers money for picnic tables at the station entrance.
That's the sort of frippery that runs though Lambeth officers minds IMHO!
