Looks interesting, I'm from Birmingham but not familiar with the Ort Gallery - just checked and I see they are in the old Moseley Art School building where two of my uncles went.

This was so good - easily one of the best things I've seen all year.

Went to the Immersive Dali thing in Brick Lane yesterday.

Not really too much to it, but the room with the AI loop was excellent and you could sit there taking in the visuals for hours.

But the VR room was amazing, totally blew me away, what a fucking trip. :D
Mrs.Griff freaked out a bit walking into the room and missed a treat though. :(

On till Sunday and worth a visit just for those two rooms. :)

Yes, it was great - managed to catch it before it closed
As I said to one of the staff, imagine having to pack that all away at the end of the exhibition!

Sadly only one day left to see this wonderful work

I'm really liking the Centre for British Photography, which is just off Piccadilly. Free entry and interesting exhibitions.

If you're in the Regents Park area the photograph exhibitions at the Royal Institute of Architects in Portland Place are very interesting, there are three on at the moment, on the ground, first and second floors - all free to view.

It's a very interesting building to see inside too and they have a very nice bookshop if you're interested in Architecture and related subjects.

Enjoyed this one too

Has Hockney's Bigger and Closer been mentioned?

On until the 3rd December. I found it really interesting as it both shows a lot of his work, but has him talking about process, perspective and things like that. It was one of those art things that makes you want to go and create. It's not cheap tho.

Although Canary Wharf is usually a soulless temple to banking and capitalism, they do have a good art festival each year - Winter Lights - which is a series of light installations during evenings in January - I went last year and really enjoyed it. Lots of (expensive, ofc) food and coffee stalls dotted about also.

17th - 27th January, 5pm-10pm daily. Free of charge (you can download a map of the art walk or pick up a paper copy there)

I can definitely recommend this - really thought provoking. It's free entry, runs until 28th April 2024.

Yes, definitely worth a visit before it closes.

Did you see the Jason and the Adventure of 254 while you were there? Not seen that one yet but it looks fun and has an interesting background.

Off to see this at The British Library tomorrow:

Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music

Looks fascinating - will report back!
This was awesome. Really well researched and presented. The early part of the exhibition covers some shamefully overlooked history of the Black contribution to British music history. The later part of it covering the post-1948 history included some amazing musical artefacts such as the guitar Dennis Bovell plays on Silly Games.
Took a few crap pics:
