I was thinking again about the cashier at the bank. I wonder how many of those €50 notes she was licking had been rolled up and shoved up someone's nose for a cheeky line, and where else they might have been.

It is funny how your perceptions change over time. I rather looked on cash to card payment, in the same way people felt when the sovereign gave way to the banknote.

Now? They should raise the 'tap' amount, as it is by far the most hygienic way to pay.

Absolutely. They should raise it to a couple of hundred, at least until the pandemic is over.
