LCC Big ride - Sat 28th April

London Cycling Campaign - Big Ride
The Big Ride on Sat 28 April is a fun event with a serious message, calling on London's mayoral candidates to make the capital's streets as safe and inviting for cycling as they are in Holland.
cheers for posting this...I'll be there. The last ride was great - taking over Parliament Square and various roads around Westminster. It's not quite critical mass cos there was loads of stewards and police, but the sheers numbers were great. About 1,500 people last time and I expect even more people to turn up this time....bring it on.

I'd like to go to one of these massive rides, but southern rail always ban bikes from trains whenever big planned ones happen :(

Are you really trying to equate "Holland" where the total population is 16 Million spread across 16 million square miles with London where the population is 7 million spread across 600 square miles.............

Comparing Apples and cumquats then.........

Useful?

No but you've got have a vision! London would benefit massively from an increase in cycling.

Bump, feeder rides to Marble Arch tomorrow

Join the Lambeth Cyclists feeder ride to the Big Ride on 28 April departing
Streatham Hill Station, SW2 at 9:30am
Lambeth Town Hall (Acre Lane), SW2 at 9:50
Bandstand, Clapham Common, SW4 at 10:15

Great ride, 10,000 cyclists, a bit damp but fun nonetheless.

A bit frustrating that stewards kept stopping the ride at pedestrian crossings even when there were no pedestrians to cross, thereby breaking up the ride - a bit wet compared to Critical Mass, but there you go. :)
