Who is the (apparently mild) aggression aimed at? Videos don't make it clear, but, as the incoherent commentary may-or may not-suggest, is it some Hindu v Muslim thing?
If it is, it's all we fucking need (another nail in the coffin of class-based politics), although if confined to Leicester it's probably ok.

It's been relatively harmonious for years here in Leicester but a lot of this aggression is now being ramped up by far right Hindus, encouraged by the shit from the Modi government and its fash allies. The attacks seem to be mainly from Hindu nationalists but there are far right Muslims also up to no good. It's starting to spiral and we now have a situation developing that was never a thing previously.

The stuff around cricket is just a pretext. It's to do with Hindutva nationalism, imported from India. So an angry March of Hindu nationalists down Green Lane Rd (mixed and fairly harmonious area but predominantly Muslim) duffing people up in the street is bound to cause anger from young Muslims - and that's the cue for the islamist arseholes to get stuck in.
It's really sad. Leicester has its faults but culturewise, it's been a pretty safe, easy-going place to live in the 22 years I've been here, with very little friction between the various ethnic/religious groups.

Aye, it's unusual. That's something I've always liked about Leicester, most people are generally easy going, a live and let live attitude. The wide cultural mix is pretty accepting of others. So this is all very grim.

If ever there was a city that has changed out of all recognition in my life time it is Leicester.

In 2019 I played Mac in a production of Bollywood Jane st Leicesters Curve thearte. The play features a gay storyline between two young south asian men. We did two weeks of shows with not a single protest. Yet in the blink of an eye, Leicester is now a sectarian tinderbox?
This is the new distraction. Someone in Whitehall realised the Eddie Dempsey smears weren’t working and has decided on a new “narrative”.

Maybe we were separated at birth...?

You might think that if this had just happened out of the blue. It hasn't. This has been building up for a while now, with Hindutva/RSS activists stirring up shit. That's not to say that UK government spooks don't have some connection but Modi supporters and fellow travellers are far more likely.
