Yeah, Stamford Bridge is right next to the railway line between the new Imperial Wharf station and West Brompton.
It's nowhere near Chelsea's ground.
It's near Fulham Broadway.

I didn't say Chelsea's ground was near either station just that the railway line between them runs alongside it.

Finally?
They have been saying it was coming soon since about 2001.
Anyway isn't it just for the posh people in those fancy flats?
There is nothing else round there.
Even if it is, its paid for by the developer so whats the harm (aside from delays to people already on board) - exactly the right principle that developers should pay for transport improvements near their developments so that new residents aren't locked in to car dependency
Comme d'habitude then !
Comme d'habitude then !
I Googled that and I am still as to the reference.
In the end, the developers only paid a small percentage towards it, with the rest of us picking up the tab.
"It's always the way" as in:
It's alway us that gets shafted.
As opposed to the original of "My Way"
Sad that there is only one mainline train service (Southern) stopping at Kensington Olympia these days which only does one route, Milton Keynes to East Croydon.
I remember only recently being able to get trains direct to Gatwick with Southern and Virgin, First Great western to Reading, Virgin to Manchester Piccadilly. We even used to see the Eurostar pass by. Alas, All gone now
See this thread - http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=275873
(Are you sure First Great Western used to go there by the way??)
Yeah I saw that last year. It is interesting.
Come to think of it, it might have been Virgin running the train to Reading (Not FGW) that I got on. It went to the junction by Acton mainline and then joined the main GWR route down to reading. Dead convenient as the station is walking distance from my flat. Now I have to go to sodding Paddington instead to go to Reading by train.
more on olympia station here - http://www.subbrit.org.uk/sb-sites/stations/k/kensington_olympia/index2.shtml
the district line service (olympia - earls court - high street kensington) is now an all day thing - it used only to be when there was a big exhibition on.
They were probably on their way to/from the North Pole depot alongside the Great Western mainline.the first eurostar trains went through there
reinvented itslef as a Motorail terminal in the 1960's , trains to Fishguard for Ireland and Scotland
A few more stations, say sheperds bush/white city and something on the south bank before clapham and it becomes viable for commuters
pre WW1 I think you could have a got a direct train from Whitechapel to Clapham
