katy hopkins fails at tweeting

You can't park here sir
She later messaged: “Dear @BootsUK URGENT. Emergency deodorant supplies needed in Lewes. I will distribute. Like a right wing #bobgeldof. But with better hair.”

Unfortunately for Hopkins she misdirected her tweet sending it to the Lakehead University’s student newspaper in Northern Ontario, instead of Sussex’s only daily.

After seeing a sudden spike in interest in their publication, The Argus editor tweeted back to Hopkins. He said: “Dear @KTHopkins, we are a student run newspaper based at Lakehead University in Northwestern Ontario. I believe you’re looking for @brightonargus. Better luck next time.”

Nice replies...
Hopkins’s tweets caused the reaction she usually gets when taking on social media.

One posted: “Can everyone please check down the back of their sofas, behind their fridge, in pockets...Hopkins has lost her career and can’t seem to find it. It may also be down the toilet since she was sacked from her TV and radio shows and lost contract with Daily Mail.”

Another said: “Book sales failing. Supported by morons. Unable to break into mainstream media. Sacked by LBC. Now desperately trying to drum up support for massive stadium gig in.......Lewes.”

One warned: “Careful Katie, they burn effigies in Lewes and not just on bonfire night.”

:D

Can't this be put on the main hopkins thread that I'm already ignoring? As far as hopkins' wrongs go, it's hardly something that justifies a new thread.

likesfish mocking someone else's incoherent and misdirected posts is quite a brass neck too.

Chooon!!! As people used to allegedly say. Saw them do it live recently. Good times.

I'm so fucking old I first heard this when they toured the "Bizarro" album. Always found them a great band. If you listen to their albums, their songs and playing changed and matured with each one. Love them all, but my have personal favourites on each album. People used to say that they were a bog-standard Smiths copy, but Gedge's lyrics are equal to most of Morrissey's output, and Morrissey could never have written a song like "Suck". :D

Sussex will not be druv or listen to Hopkins unfortunately it wasn’t “rough music” but you can’t have everything

'Sussex won't be druv' is a Sussex saying and 'rough music' is banging pots and pans while escorting someone unpopular out of the village. I heard the saying when I was a boy living in Sussex and I heard something about rough music or Skimmington riding in connection with some kind of spoof election that used to happen in Wandsworth (and it's in a Thomas Hardy novel).

There’s a by election at Exeter City Council to be held on 13th December. I see that she has signed the nomination papers for one of the candidates...no prizes for guessing which party.

And again! Which will probably win her thousands of new followers when she comes back, if she comes back ...

The only tweet still visible on her main profile page on Thursday morning was from a critic accusing her of inciting racial hatred in messages directed at the rapper Stormzy.

Twitter said that Ms Hopkins had been temporarily locked out of her account for violating the site’s hateful-conduct policy, which bans the promotion of violence or inciting harm on the basis of race, religion, national origin or gender identity.

The move came a little over a day after Rachel Riley, the host of Channel 4’s Countdown and an anti-racism campaigner, met Twitter representatives calling for them to review and remove Ms Hopkins’ account.

The meeting was organised by the Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) campaign group, which called for Twitter to permanently delete the account.

“We are pleased that preliminary action appears to have been taken by Twitter against the identity-based hate actor, Katie Hopkins following productive discussions with Twitter’s UK office,” said CCDH’s chief executive, Imran Ahmed.

The far right are apparently moving over to a platform called "parler" where they can rant to their hearts' content and not bother the rest of us ...apparently some Tory MPs recently joined, but one of them basically said it was too much for them...
